Wow, that San Diego boot...

Is it me, or do they just sound super damn tight? I think people mentioned they are using strats or mixing up the guitars this tour? Matt is also pounding on the cymbals more, and it's noticeable in Even Flow, amongst others. DOTC sounds even tighter and better than it did when I saw them at Sea.Hear.Now in the Fall, as well.

Eddie may have talked a lot during this show, but the bootleg sounds fantastic. Kudos to 10C for getting this out the same day as it aired on XM.

They do sound great! I am pleasantly surprised, since I thought the sound was a little "off" in the arena -- could have been where we were sitting, could have been the earplugs, but the boot sounds great.

I really wish these shows were streaming on Apple Music. I don't want to pay for yet another streaming service to listen to the most recent boots.

They also have Josh’s playing/singing placed so much better in the mix than the boots from last year.

I just came to the board to make a thread about Matts drum sound on this boot. I think he has never sounded so tight since he joined PJ!
I have to say I am a huge Dave A. fan and could never quite accept Matt C. when he plays the classics but on this boot seriously it is the first time i even enjoy the old songs (like Once) and it has a lot to do with Matts sound. I think his snare is tuned mich tighter than previously and this leads to a more funky sound. For me it also seems like he is more experimenting doing little fills, more interesting footwork.
I am not sure what happened but somehow it all fits much better together. I am really happy and think i can finally stop those stupid bring back Dave A. thoughts :-)
For me Matt C. drumming always sounded a bit too soundgardish before. Not sure how to say it but it was a bit too stoner darkish but now there is a spark of funkiness and tightness which fits so well.
I am so looking forward to see them in Berlin!

Yeah but I don't listen to them all that often. I just want to really listen to them once to hear the Gigaton songs.

100%. I have always appreciated what MC has brought to the table, but I noticed some slight changes when I was at Sea.Hear.Now. They're even more apparent on this boot. I also think his best album so far with PJ was Gigaton. Take the Long Way is insane.

    Enjoy Berlin!

    Nope.
I changed headphones and it’s a little better but still there are parts of given to fly, quick escape, 7 o’clock, sbwm where Ed is one step too low for my liking. Just a little buried in the mix.

The band sounds great…new guitar sounds, more treble I guess.  Ed sounds like he stopped smoking, or cut back.  Just my uniformed impressions.  The overall sound of the boot is great, with my very small appreciative gripe above..

GTF still a touch to fast IMO.Or the into at least is.  Great sounding boot.  New stuff sounds phenomenal. Can't wait to hear the rest.

I noticed that too. Some of Josh’s background vocals from Ohana are painful.

can we get a petition for them to please slow down the intro of GTF like it sounds in 98 shows and I do think Ed sounds better either he quite smoking or less songs in a set save his voice

I purchased the MP3 with a 10C code I had and downloaded them to my phone (android). Anyone have advice/experience getting everything to play in the correct order? Right now I just have all the individual songs downloaded. Spotify will play them all but there is no easy way to make a play list (that I know of). I'm really starting to feel old, might have to just buy the CD.

can you rename them and use numbers?  It seems like I have had to do that before...it will sort them by the first character

I am not sure why they don't number the songs correctly when you download them.  I'm still using iTunes and an iPod, so it was easy to fix, but still a pain in the butt.  Hopefully Pearl Jam's crew will correct this for future boots.

In Phoenix, Eddie talked about his bout with COVID and, in telling the story, he implied that he had quit smoking.

One thing I think I noticed at the shows, and I will be curious to hear if the bootlegs bear this out, is that Eddie seemed to have gotten rid of the affectation that had plagued his singing for several years where he-- I don't even know how to describe it-- would kind of aspirate in the middle of words so that "low light" becomes "la-hoe light" and so on.  This was all over his singing for the last several years, and I didn't hear it at any of the recent shows, but with people singing along (including me), it's hard to say for sure that he wasn't doing it.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.
