Figured. Didn’t know how close. I like making my own up. I was listening to Rio 11 and forgot Of the Earth was on it. So good.

Incredibly bummed - for all involved.  First and foremost Jeff A, I hope it's not too serious.  Second, the rest of the band.  They must all be super bummed. I was anticipating another special night - but alas, not to be.   Third -- all of us who were going to be there, or in some cases were already there.... such a disappointment.  Well, C'est la vie.   Prayers to Matt & Jeff and their families, band, crew, and everyone else.

Only guess I can come up with on the cancelation vs postponement is probably the terms of the insurance they carry. The same reason merch was not sold ... people would have bought it. Had to be a full stop to to cover losses on Insurance.

I believe the technical nomenclature is that Fresno is the capital of Pearl Jam Nation.

While logistically a pain in the ass (but not at all impossible), it'd be nice if they offered ticket holders a first crack at any merch

My problem isn’t with the canceled show. My problem is when they canceled it. It’s show day. Tests should have been done first thing this morning. We waited till 11am to leave and drive all the way to the arena in shit traffic on the 99 and get the cancellation hours before doors open. So I’ve wasted 7 hours of my day today in a car. 60 dollars in gas. 8 hours of vacation at a job i fucking hate for absolutely nothing. Nothing. Does any of that get refunded to me. Or the money people spent on airfare and rooms. Yes its a shit situation but if us the concert goer get covid and can’t attend we better of bought the ticket insurance or we are shit outta luck. This really makes me question ever purchasing tickets to an show not in the Fresno area again.

Fresno might have been my final PJ show unless they bless us with more in the future.

Safe travels and health to all those disappointed in today and Friday. And the whole band and crew also.

    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

I was at the arena earlier. I met with a few sad fans. Disheartening and the fact that it is cancelled not postponed, I think PJ had enough of the west. I could tell even at the Oakland shows that Ed may have meltdown. I hope European tour is smoother.

If there are any NINTENO SWITCH Mario Kart fans out there, I have created a special room/Tournament where we can get out our frustrations about tonight by racing a bit. You can search for " Pearl Jam Sacramento" in the tournaments section. The code is 0551-7343-7995. Hope to see ya there

And the Artist for the Sac show dropped his APs this AM BEFORE the show and BEFORE the cancelation... Has that ever happened - Even the sale before the show is unheard of. Yes Oak 2 was the next day, not the same day.. Crazy.. I think Vegas will happen after Denver, but not Sacramento. Many of the Sac crowd were doing the CA loop from OAK to Fresno and Sac... If its not part of bigger travel crowd maybe it doesn't happen. Unless there are no Bay Area shows and they can draw people from that metro and fill the building. It was already a hard sell and the uppers were mostly unsold until several weeks ago. Makes me think that many tickets were donated to fill the building. That could be another reason to cancel. Lastly on the day of cancelation you cant say, we canceling Sac and postponing Vegas.. Vegas was just a victim of Sac getting the axe.

I'm really sorry that this worked out so badly for you, and I'm fortunate to have narrowly escaped a similar fate.  I was 20 minutes from boarding a flight that would have lost me $200, and then stranded in Sacramento until tomorrow morning.

Having said that, I would keep in mind that the tests that came back positive today were likely administered yesterday if they were PCR tests.  I'd be surprised if they were using less reliable rapid antigen tests for an endeavor of this magnitude.  If they were using PCR tests, as I assume they were, they would be at the mercy of the lab processing the tests, which is probably not local.  I would be very surprised if they knew this show had to be cancelled and they sat on that information for any length of time longer than what it took to assess alternatives before they made the decision to cancel.  They know there are thousands of people affected by the decision and I'm sure they do not take that responsibility lightly.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

They are almost certainly using a combination of both, which is pretty normal in the entertainment industry. As we know, the guy that was pulled out of the crowd was tested during the show before he was allowed to take the stage. And all productions have a COVID compliance officer that runs point on that.

I don’t have extra money to throw at nothing and covid is never going away so all that means for me is that my days of following the band or any destination concert now are now over. I feel bad for Jeff and Matt but my feelings are not going to replace the time, money and vacation hours I will never get back. No refund on those from Ticketmaster.

I have fan club Dave matthews band tickets at shoreline in September that I now will be selling off. today has completely soured me on any concerts in the future and also will be reconsidering why to even stay in the ten club or Dave Matthews fan club.

Bless all of you that take todays cancellation and can find positives but today has given me lemons and turned them into hot piss.

Unless the band plays Fresno again, Monday was most likely my final PJ show.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

It's costing all of us in a variety of ways. I decided last week to use all my airline points (united and SW) to fly up... they're very valuable and equal to money. GONE for no benefit now.
The worst is not being to get any merch for our disappointment. I'm encouraging all the frustrated fans to write on 10C support/ contact us page and let's see what happens.

Anyway in regards to the above PearlJammer78 post - never say never!

Things will 'turn around' eventually.  The pandemic will not last forever.  If you love the DMB and want to see them at Shoreline - hang onto those tickets!  Don't let the fear of last minute cancelation make you do something you'll regret later.   I get your frustration.   This is a bummer for all involved.    Shit, I had 3rd row seats in the 100's just off the stage on Mike's side!!    Would have been freaking EPIC... right?

But, it is what it is.    Either way, if there is another Fresno at some point down the road, hopefully I will be there with you! :-)

Shoreline is an outside venue which is safer.  We went to both Ohana Encore shows, and we were fine even though the venue was packed. Band made it through three shows with no one sick as far as I know.

I know the feeling. It is just unfortunate. The band tried their best but as Ed said we live in tough times. I had a ticket for Ed's show in Long Beach and that too didn't happen that day because someone got infected.

I was lucky in that I am finacually out nothing.  I never got not on the plane and the Holiday Inn next door to the venue changed it's policy and refunded my hotel (very cool of them).  But I agree the cancellation came very late in the day.  I had even already gotten the standard "Your Pearl Jam show is today" email at around noon.  Got the email cancellation at 1:30.

Ed’s right. We do live in tough times. But most of us don’t have money to waste for nothing like I did yesterday. 6 dollars a gallon gas and the full tank it took round trip not to mention 7 hours on the most fucked up highway in America. The ca99. You want to see the price of corruption in California drive this highway. To cancel a show at 1:30 in the afternoon day of show is bullshit. If this is the times we are in then my money will no longer support live music and the avalanche of merch peddled to us. Just my choice after the fucking I got yesterday. Yes, I’m a pessimist.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

Vegas was just a victim of Sac getting the axe.
    really? That's fucked up....

Perhaps it was such a late cancelation because maybe Jeff tested positive earlier in the morning then they went and did a PCR test, which takes much longer, to confirm one way or the other?
