Ok, I'll be that guy. Poster is....hmmmm....ok...I guess. Sutton had 2 years and this is what he came up with?! Kudos for it being better than the 2020 poster, but this is one of those "if it's still available when I get to the show, I'll buy it. If not, I'm not going to lose any sleep".

I think it's great, although I'm not sure what connection there is between Batman and San Diego.

Yeah, me either. I know Eddie did the batman jingle with his daughter a long time ago...But not sure about the San Diego ties...Glad you like the poster!

Name drop alert I know Ward. He lives in my childhood hometown now. I’ll ask him and report back
Lol, they definitely have a different look than the curvy bills in the Midwest. But if you want to take home a piece of San Diego, then buy the flat billed 'Bro Hat.' That's how the local Bros do it out here.

Perhaps a nod to George Barris, who created the Batmobile for the 60s tv show. He’s a custom car legend in California and across the country for that matter.

That would be my guess. If so, still a very weak connection.

For me, nothing will ever beat the 2013 San Diego 'Chargers' PJ tour shirt. Soft, fit well, and amazing design, especially for Chargers fans.

So many questions. Why batman? Who is driving? Is that batgirl? Where are they going? Why the old TV show batmobile?
The text across the top reads: "If he knew anything, it was how to hotwire. We sped down the coast, determined to make it." Gonna guess someone stole the classic Batmobile to get to the show.

Great band. The only merch thing I've seen so far that I even remotely like is the button with the Battalion tribute logo.

Does their have to be a connection?
It helps in the case when something is visually weak. At least you feel like something makes sense, even at the expense of art that looks like more effort could have been put into it. I don't know. To each their own. I'm just glad it isn't the poster for the Oakland show, though I ain't holding my breath for that one!

The best prints have a connection to the city, where the show is being played, etc... Seems to me as if Pearl Jam poster artists create artwork that brings in something about the city, band, venue far less than other bands. That's part of the reason people lose their minds when there is a halfway decent poster that does have a connection (Wrigley Cracker Jack or Emek Rome, come to mind). I've found that Eddie Vedder solo posters typically have that "connection" element far more frequently than PJ posters (why? I'm not sure).
