Choice of rail spot = waiting a long time. I did that a couple of times and was worth it.

Has the line begun to form?  I think people have been there 5 days early before.
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

Then I'm showing up by 345PM at the latest!!!

Really no idea when I will get there.  There will be a plan...but then drinking will happen and the plan will change!

My flight lands at 9:00am day of. I was planning on just heading straight over to get in line. It sounds like I'll be a couple days late. Is it even worth standing around for several hours? Might be better to just relax and hang out in the back of GA.

That depends.. it's such a small venue that the GA is fairly small too.
If you're in our city there's got to be something better than waiting on line.... unless you NEED to be right in front or close. Honestly.. go to OB for beer and fish tacos... better than hanging out on a college campus all day

This is ALWAYS better. Relax and enjoy yourself in the city you are visiting.

Honestly I agree 100%. I live here and take everything for granted. OB is a good call. If I were to come from out of town no way and I wasting time in a line that at the end of the day you will still have a close spot if you show up later. I'm lucky as I'm five minutes away. Beers will be at home!

In 2013 I too walked in late...GA was far from full and plenty of room. Could see great while roaming the back.

2013 people were a little more chill about lining up for ga. It got a more obsessive as time went on. if you really want rail, the only way is to check it out when you get there, and be prepared to wait. People have been sneaky. multiple lists, lines in other places. 'We were here but had to leave'.   I had someone just walk in front of me (front of the line) and sit about 15 minutes before doors. he eventually left after people yelled, screamed.  Venue staff doesn't manage won't do anything.

Maybe reconsider a rail spot and just enjoy your 100th!

What is this darkness you speak of?  Or are you really thinking of getting there before sunrise on 5/3 (6:59am)?  And the sun will not set until after the scheduled start time (7:32pm).

As others have said, and I can attest to from 2013, the pit is small, so even if you are in the back, you'll be good.  I think as long as you show up an hour before the doors open (6pm) you will be able to grip the rail.  Albeit, you may not be front and center, so if that's what you want, then yes, maybe show up a couple hours earlier.  But then you're in line for hours when you could be having a nice late lunch/early dinner and some drinks around the area.

Also, just a pro tip...there is not one specific GA gate.  Anybody can use any gate and they'll all open at 6pm.  So you could be 100 people back at the gate nearest the GA, or you could be 1st in line at the gate opposite GA, and perhaps the latter will get you closer to center rail.

Long story short...don't sweat it.  Show up around 4pm or 5pm and you should be within an arm's length of center rail, or on the rail to the side.  If everyone had that mentality, we'd all be better off for it.

If they did not do a separate GA line that would be a first for NA since 2013 I think. This year is definitely different but we will know soon enough with SD emails coming out before the show what will happen.

We're definitely thinking about it.  But to be honest, it looks a little too posh for my liking, especially for a proper pre-show party.  No good sports bars with peanut shells on the ground available?  :)

No... they weren't. It was hard enough to get this spot.
And they are very accommodating. Sure, it's Italian... but their apps and pasta are really good and you can order a pizza if you like.

My 1 indoor GA experience was for Oakland in 2013. Basically walked in about 20 minutes before they came on and hung towards the back of the pit. Had more room than I knew what to do with. And was still closer than 90% of the arena. I plan to do this again for Sacramento, but I have no desire to be on the rail. YMMV. Have fun!

Yeah .. don't... take trolley from somewhere on Green line. There's a lot of places you can't park on University grounds

In 2013 I parked in the lot right next to the arena (#12 I think). There was construction and a ton of cars but it wasn't terrible. I also wasn't in a huge hurry, cost like $20. I might do it again if I decide to get there early. If I go up later I'll probably take the green line.
