A moment from 10 yrs ago that came up on my memories:

Juliette Lewis on the Prevost right before RNDM took the stage at the classic LA venue The Troubadour.
I think she meant to point at Jeff, but I’ll take it:), she’s super cool and friendly.
I asked her what films she enjoyed making, and she just said they were all pretty cool, but said she enjoyed making music equally if not more than acting at that moment.
I told her I had recently watched Cape Fear w/ Nolte and De Niro.
She cringed and said that was a weird one.

Indeed this meeting was kind of weird and surreal.
The winter of 2012. In a strange band in a strange moment in time.
    Feels like another lifetime ago.

One evening in late fall, while my son Alexander was working on the main piano melody you hear at the beginning of this song, my ears perked up. I asked him what it was and he said it was something he had been working on for a little while. I asked him if I could join in, he smiled and said with slightly rolled teenager eyes, "ok Dad". I turned on the Mellotron and started developing a counter melody that seemed to work. We also started introducing the passing chords from E to A, to give the main piano melody some structure, adding another interesting dimension. At this point the collaboration was on and my inner happy Dad moment was in full effect. We both realized this new piano jam needed a bridge part and that's when the lights of harmony vocals were switched into the on position. The song didn't present itself as a holiday themed tune at first, but we passed the point of no return when we both laughed at the thought of sleigh bells coming in during this part. Flash forward to the tracking: We started with Alexander's piano part followed by mellotron, synth bass and drums. I worked out some simple lyrics centered around being in the present moment and acknowledging the surrounding beauty of being in nature during the winter. Alexander and I went with a duet in the first verse followed by harmonies throughout the rest of the track. Now we needed a ringer for the sleigh bell part. We knew just who to get and we were grateful for her availability and participation. Cathrine Veikos (aka Mom:) With the Bells down in two takes, we now had a completed song that was affectionately recorded at House Of Faith Recording by the most awesome Bart Thurber who captured it all for your listening pleasure. It's now a holiday tune, but I like to think of it as a special collaboration between the family that stretches across time and space with that universal message of love. Please take note that my good brother from another mother Neal Walter put the star on top with some excellent guitar action to bring it all home. Thank you Neal! I hope you enjoy this tune now or at any time of year. Here And Now, With Love...
