Las Vegas roll call

A good friend of mine who has lived in Vegas for over 20 years, says the same: Stay away from the Strip!(unless he has to go there for work). I'm glad I have to place to stay(his house) away from the Strip.kaw753 said:
As a long time resident, I have come to the opinion that 50% of people on the Vegas strip are simply there to "be in the way". As a long time resident, I also avoid the strip as much as possible.gerald605 said:
It's close in terms of Vegas casinos but give yourself plenty of time if you have to be somewhere at a certain time. It could take you 15 minutes to go from your room to the street. Another 15-20 minutes from street to get to MGM Grand. If youre going straight to the arena there is a small street that is next to Hard Rock that leads back to the arena. It will save you time. If you google map it you will see what i mean. I have a room booked at Vdara, the sister hotel of Aria. Love them both. See you there.Coma_Girl said:First time going to Vegas. Staying at Aria. Anyone familiar with the area and distance to MGM? Is it walkable or Uber needed or close to tram? Thx0 -
Yep, as a current resident, I stay far away from the Strip. Only time I go is when friends are in town and even then I'm like, "do you really want to go" lol. Downtown and the Arts District is where the locals go to play.cutz said:

That is how I feel about Times Square. Stay away unless people are in town who really want to go.jgregory89 said:

Would love Rearview as an opener here.0

Not knockin' ya, but that's a never. I love RVM too, but it's a set 1 closer/later in the show song ever since the 2000 tour. The only plausible openers from Vs. for the remainder of the band's career: Go, Small Town, Animal, and DissidentLukeat911 said:Would love Rearview as an opener here.
35 years, 35 shows.

That would be crazy though! I think rvm was in the number two slot for Atlanta ‘94? I might be wrong.0

It’s been #2 a handful of times. Just thinking outside of the box. I would lose it if it was early on. Probably going to be a gigaton song to open if I were to guess. Retrograde was great at Ohana.0

Those PJ premium tix for $275 are tempting in sections 18 and 19. That’s like right by stone/mike pretty close.0

San Berdardino CA 2000 And I'm pretty sure there are a couple more shows with RVM as opener. It would be awesome to get it!

I actually think it would be very interesting to see certain patterns disrupted along these lines. Play "Release" in the middle of the set. Open with "Rearviewmirror." Play "Even Flow" in the encore. Etc.
(To be clear, I'd rather a set that was 75/25 recent material instead of 75/25 older material, but I know I'm not likely to get that so I think I'd get something out of hearing the older material in a different context.)I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -
In the same room they first played Crown Of Thorns, how about they bust out Reach Down?1992: 7/25 Denver, CO (Lollapalooza)
1993: 11/30 Las Vegas, NV (Vault #5) - 12/1 Las Vegas, NV
1998: 7/11 Las Vegas, NV
2000: 10/22 Las Vegas, NV (10th anniversary)
2003: 4/1 Denver, CO
2006: 7/3 Denver, CO
2014: 10/22 Denver, CO
2020: 4/11 Phoenix, AZ
2022: 5/9 Phoenix, AZ - 5/20 Las Vegas, NV
Eddie Vedder/Earthlings
2022: 10/7 Las Vegas, NV0 -
Nice! I should've clarified, my bad. I meant never again, but I'll file it under plausible/highly unlikely in the band's modern era. Again, I love RVM. But thematically, it just fits better as the end of a chapter because it's about getting away from a bad situation.Verse_chorus_verse said:Go Animal said:

Anyone ever do a helicopter ride in the grand canyon? Seems a bit expensive but would consider it if others thought it was worth it.0

Offer your wife a choice between the helicopter ride and the charter for the Vegas mile high club.PJNB said:Anyone ever do a helicopter ride in the grand canyon? My sister did one from Vegas. She got work to pay as it was with clients but she loved it.PJNB said:Anyone ever do a helicopter ride in the grand canyon? Seems a bit expensive but would consider it if others thought it was worth it.
I’m looking into a day trip to Zion/Bryce that includes transportation. Gonna be a doozy of a day though.0
