Would PJ cancel Canadian dates?

They canceled a show over bathrooms.  Would they cancel shows in a country governed by the Emergencies Act?

PJ always been about free thinking and expressing ones opinion.  It seems in Canada if you disagree with Trudeau he'll freeze your bank accounts?
Wondering how the band can rationalise that.

They've toured in countries where they have openly disagreed with the government on many occasions.

Not saying they *do* disagree, but if they did, it wouldn't stop them.

Lol.  I doubt it.  It was the result of Ottawa being occupied for weeks on end and international borders being frozen.  It went beyond thoughts and protests.   Plus it was all against vaccines and masks mandates...stuff im not sure pj is against.

True. The USA for example didn't think of that :p

Wasn’t it about protesting not being able to return to normal while clogging the roads thus preventing anyone from returning to normal? Ironic

Plus I read 90 percent of Canadian truckers are vaccinated anyway so hardly representative of truckers

Yah.  Protests against all mandates.  I feel like weve done our best to minimize the outcome of covid19 in canada.  I havent agreed with all government measures, but i also believe theres a lot of trial and error as no one in lifetime had gone through something like this before.

It feels like a very small part of the population tried to take the country by the balls.  Its something i dont agree with. I felt what they did was pretty bad.

Would pj really cancel shows because a bunch of anti mask/vaccine/madate haters took the country hostage and the government had to deal with it.  I doubt it.

The convoy is just a bunch of far-right Trumpy a-holes hiding behind the insincere concept of being anti-covid-mandate, which itself is a pathetic cause. If they were American, they would have stormed the Capitol. I would hope that PJ wouldn't have a problem with the government's actions against these morons.

Short answer: no - the shows will happen.
Long answer: the shows will happen, but every Canadian with tickets has had this thought in the back of their minds at one point in the last 2 years.

    Indeed! It's been pretty intense.

Seems pretty evident what your answer is.  Nothing in life is guaranteed.

Don't forget those of us in the US with tickets! At one point, between the start of the pandemic and the postponing of the shows, we were wondering if we should attend and risk the border closing with us on the wrong side side we don't live on.

I think you have the right to return to your own country.  Even when the border was closed they werent stopping canadians from coming home.   I kind of doubt the us would block americans from going home.

Also i think the only way this happens if is we regressed and a nasty variant got on the loose.   In which case no shows to cross the border for.

Oh I hear ya. The extra "worry" for Canadians though, was that we were seeing concerts happening in the US while still in lockdown. Hence, there was a long standing possibility of a tour without Canadian shows. Many bands skipped Canada last year because it just wasn't worth adding the dates and having to worry about capacity issues, or even being open for business at all.

And don't even get me started about how it cost $150 just to take the proper covid test to re-enter our country and our land border opening up for US folk to visit us before we could return the favour. Crazy times..

  • I think the risk is higher that they would cancel Canada if the government keeps flip-flopping on reopening and/or simplifying border crossing.  For example Elton John cancelled two Toronto shows and maybe other Canadian as well.

  • I’m afraid that it’s the Canadian shows that are holding up the tour reannouncement due to our continued capacity limits. If that is the case, I think they should just go ahead with the US shows and do the Canadian dates when it becomes feasible, unless doing so would be some sort of logistical nightmare (which I can’t see but might be possible).

Back in March 2020, no one really knew what was going to happen. That said, it wasn't ever "can't go home", but we'd have had to quarantine.

I know PJ's promises to fans seem to be rather ephemeral these days, but I think the fact that the only show from this tour they've actually cancelled was because the arena wasn't going to be usable for at least a year should give some comfort that it's going to take something massive for them to give up on these shows entirely.

Imagine that. The faux outrage by ppl for something that lasted what, 4 days and something that was always meant to be temporary is laughable. This is what happens when ppl let others like Ben Shapiro, tucker Carlson, Hannity, Pierre poiliviere, rebel news, and others talk for them.
