Nice records. Will be happy when I can get Lost Dogs for 40. I have a feeling that we are witnessing the fall of the price of pj collectable records. With the popularity and availability it loses a bit of the charm imho. Sell all that og wax now if you are in it for the cash.
OG pressings will never completely lose their value. As long as there are collectors they will have a market. The value on the OG will go down a little with a reissue but will rebound over time. Look at all the reissues of Beatles, Led Zep, Pink Floyd... the original pressings still have charm and and a hefty price tag.
Look at all the pressings of TEN, tons of copies out there.... an original sealed 94 pressing just sold on Discogs for $440. So I wouldn't try to cash in now, imo.
Wow. true. I guess the rarity of OG pressings will always be there.
Their track record on reissues (remastering) isn’t the best. I’m sure it helps the OG market that most of the remasters sound worse
ten in particular but vs and vitalogy there is a big difference as well. I slightly prefer the OG riot act, no code, and binaural as well but those are closer
plus reissues don’t change the fact that it seems only a couple thousand in some cases (IE riot act, RVM,lost dogs) of these originals even exist
Finally got them. Although I don't know about this supposed great mailer Walmart uses?
I’ll post a pic of the next target giant box I get with a record in it. Records are placed at an angle with one of those tiny air bags in it. It bounces all the way to your house. The Walmart mailer is great only because it’s not Target packaging
I thought my wife bought a floor lamp or something the first time it happened and I saw the box on the porch
It’s just a single lp mailer with two records jammed into it. Nothing special. It’s only saving grace is that they’re in there snug so they don’t slide around.
All four of my LP’s are warped. Not terrible but definitely no where near flat. Always fun to spend 8 hours flattening brand new records.
I suspect it’s not an isolated incident. If it was I’d probably just return them and get new ones
Not isolated. My V1 is warped - both LPs. I hate it! But, it plays/sounds OK. How do you flatten them?
Vinyl Flat. One hour in the oven at 130 degrees, one hour to cool and they are good. Repeat on each record.V1, LP 2 currently in progress.V1,LP 1 turned out great
Stated earlier but my LP2 for vol 1&2 were warped. Had to return vol 1 because of distortion on Side D.
Replacement is actually different, delivered from my local Walmart. The gatefold is a bit “grittier”(?) in texture. Also, this replacement has the same runout info but does not show it as pressed at MPO? Strange but i now have a complete set so I’m pleased.
I was just looking at vinyl flats. Quite an investment tho… maybe some day
When you end up using it on at least 25% of all new records you buy it’s pretty much a must have. That’s probably a conservative estimate for me personally. I can’t stand records that aren’t flat and they sound bad even if they don’t skip.
The worst was when I had to do it with the entire 7 LP Tom Petty Live Anthology. Took all weekend

I’ve been looking at this thing too, just couldn’t remember what the heck it was called. Yeah that’s pricey!! How long do you have to do it for, 15 mins? Not sure my oven can go that low

One hour.
yes my lowest oven setting is 175, so basically you set it at the lowest setting and turn it off as it approaches 130. Usually an oven will maintain the temp for 15-20 minutes and you just turn it on and off again to maintain.
they also sell plug in heating pouches too. Seems like a lot of people around here use that. I prefer the oven
I assume you can do it with any heat absorbing flat heavy material and make your own. You don’t need to buy anything fancy. It’s not really that complicated of a design

I bought both volumes
(1 & 2) from TCC and with their two email notifications... it appears each
volume is shipped separately for which is not a problem for me and I hope
neither set is warped.

Got a photo? Hopefully they are landing to all safe & sound.

Trailer Park Boys would say, “it’s fucked.”
