Fucking up at work

This week I was in charge of filming the CEO of the company I work at and another high-ranking President for a "Year-end 2021" summary to be shown for the organisation and for IR purposes. I hate filming, and video equipment and all that - but somehow it has become part of my job here. So, from another department I borrowed some brand new wireless lapel-mics. Would make things easier than using the old, cheap wired lapel-mics my department has. Tried them the day before by myself, and it was just plug-and-play. Plug the reciever into the camera, and they connect and everything worked great.

So, the day of filming they both had the wireless mics and I was operating a second camera a bit away from the one recording the sound -- but the meters hit like they should and we recorded the 20 minute talk. Great. Everything went smooth. I focused on the lighting, and having things in focus and hoped everything would look good.

Then, when I was to edit and had transferred the video files to the computer - I noticed that through out the talk the sound was dropping out. Constantly. The audio couldn't be used. Luckily I had a shotgun mic on the second camera, but that audio was recording low and really noisy. But had to try salvage it by using that audio. But it sounds like shit. My boss hasnät said anything about it, and neither did the CEO... but... yeah. The cold sweat when you realized the audio was fucked and couldn't be used. Don't know what I did wrong... maybe something interfere with the signal or whatever... who knows... fuck technology.

Oh yes, I took a new managerial position and man was I ever screwing in the beginning. To point where I started to doubt myself and questioned why the I took on this position. That’s with a major raise, it was so bad I would limit myself to let’s say 5 fuck ups tonight then the next night 4 so on so on. That was 7 months ago, now I’ve gotten another raise recently and was told my upper management keep up the good work. So hang in there, stay strong and things will get better.
