POLL - The WEAKEST LINK of FEMALE FRONTED BANDS - ROUND 1

Hope everyone is having fun with these WEAKEST LINK polls. With the new poll we will decide the best "Female Fronted Band". Now I decided to not include all girl bands like The Bangles or Go Go's, and wanted to stay away from bands with the singer's name in the band name like Blondie or Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

So with this one I came up with 10 for us to debate about and choose from.

Disclaimer: I know there are thousands of great bands with female leads, I could not include them all and I want to be the first to say I am sorry for not including your favorite. These are just the ones that came to my mind.

Remember you are going to pick the band that you think is the "Weakest Link" after 2 days I remove the two (2) bands with the most votes. We will then move on to Round 2.

Thanks again for playing, and Happy Holidays!

Eurythmics
No Doubt
Evanescence
Garbage
The Pretenders
The Cranberries
The Dead Weather
Heart
Hole
Paramore

Hmm, I never would've thought of excluding bands with the singer's name, it has made the list more varied I think. Good call.

I rarely use this word, but this poll is awesome.  =)

I like to go into the these thinking who are the two who would make my finals, and being surprised at the actual results.

My guess is it goes down to Heart and No Doubt with Heart winning.
  • Paramore
I will accept nothing shy of an Annie Lennox win.

Heartless Bastards are another great band fronted by an amazing female. Definitely worth checking out if you've never heard them.

I think The Pretenders have a good chance of making the finals.

Too many I don't know (4) this round.  Sorry to not see the Go Go's here, but no complaints.
    See y'all next round.

Evanescence and Paramore are two I would put in top 5.  One album by Paramore is fantastic, one of my favorites from whatever year it came out.
    Lol...these are funny to see.

Too poppy 'for' me.  That Misery Business song is just dreadful.  I thought it was Avril Lavigne the first time I heard it.

I know they won't win, but Evanescance is way more solid than they get credit for.

I feel like virtual punches will be thrown in this poll.

To be honest, I am picking this band because I don’t know anything by them. Maybe I know a song and don't know it’s them though who knows.

I personally think The Cranberries and No Doubt are the best of the bunch. Will be interesting to see the ending.

Coin toss between No Doubt and Cranberries for me. I can’t stand either of their voices.

I didn’t know they were Swedish.  Love Fool was their hit over here. I assumed they were a one hit wonder.

They really evolved from that. If you listen to their later albums before breaking up... or stopping at least.

Nina Persson did some solo stuff afterwards under the namn "A camp", like this Neil Young coveeeeeeeer.

The Sounds are a good Swedish one, too.

Their first two albums are great! (I don’t have any beyond that.)
