Thanks all, I’m Suffolk way and there’s a flight out of Luton slightly earlier on the Sunday that they have managed to get my wife and I on and (shockingly given what they had suggested) we fly back into the same airport a few days later. We were originally going from Gatwick. If all goes well we’ll dash to the hotel, grab some food from Febo and head off to stand near the back somewhere. I’ll definitely need the seats we’ve got for night 2 :)
Are you on the 07:00 from Luton?

So Amsterdam is restricting flight traveling? I just received an email that my flight from Amterdam to Helsinki iw canceled. Now I'm waiting if I get same email regarding my flight from Helsinki to Amsterdam. Does anybody know something about this? Is this going to be a real problem?

The problem in the UK is a lack of trained airport staff post-Covid so they're cancelling a lot of flights to numerous destinations, not just Amsterdam. They're meant to offer you an alternative flight, not always with the same carrier, or a full refund.

Yes, that’s pretty much the situation with the UK side of things. I believe Schiphol also has pretty bad problems at the moment for a lot of the same reasons we’ve got. They have also just cancelled lots of flights.

No, we got put on the one around lunchtime so it should be ok provided everything runs smoothly. I figure we should be at the hotel by 5:30 or 6pm if we don’t have to spend more than a couple of hours in queues or with delays. just a much longer day than we were expecting 😂

Schipol is capping the number of flights.  It’s unclear how much advance notice will be provided for affected flights.

So I guess I picked the wrong destination for my PJ gig. Hope I find alternative flight for reasonable price. Covid just keeps on finding new ways to mess with me seeing PJ.

i'm feeling even better about my decision to plan my trip around one show.  too much travel sounds very stressful about now.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

These cancellations are worrisome. I booked a nonstop flight from NYC to Prague really far in advance and got a great rate using miles for an upgrade. A few months ago they cancelled that flight without even telling me. I only found out by randomly checking my airline app. When I called they said I should have gotten an email a month earlier, but I didn't. The only flights they could rebook me on had 2 stops and were like 18-20 hours of travel time. I asked for a refund and rebooked a nonstop on another airline. But since I couldn't use miles for that one, I ended up paying quite a bit more. I have found myself checking the app several times a week to make sure that flight is still on. So far, so good. However, I am a bit worried there will be some last minute issue with it. I am also nervous about my flight to Toronto. However, there are many more options from NYC to Toronto than there are nonstops to Prague. Just another thing to stress about on top of potential covid issues.

I booked some cheap backup flights as throwaways to hopefully cover against this type of chaos.  Even those are not guaranteed though.

There’s no right answer but I’d rather have multiple shows so that if something gets messed up you might miss a show but not all shows in your plan.
