People cheered that shit and thought Chris was “tough” and “telling it like it is” and a “straight shooter.”

    Christie is a politician. I'm with TheJuggler here; Christie's no idiot, he knows who his audience is and he knows whose votes (not yours, and not mine) are in play here. I lived in NJ when he was governor; he's very, very New Jersey.

    In this climate, I take a "prodigal son" stance, welcoming anyone who wants to join the battle to keep the orange menace out of the White House; better late than never. My bar is set very low right now -- it's lying in the bottom of a trench, frankly. But, as I've said before, while I'm not going to vote for any Republican next year, there are a few I could live with if elected. For some context: if certain people (orange menace and others) were to win, I'd need to have a plan in place to help one of my kids get out of the country, for their own safety and well-being. Christie might be abrasive, and I might always question his motives, and he'd piss me off from time to time, but I'm confident he would not have my kid and their friends loaded into a truck and disappeared, so I could live with a leader like him. That's where my bar is.

    Christie wouldn't pull out of NATO and abandon Ukraine, and he wouldn't try to have people like my kid exterminated. Right now, that's enough for me (again, still not voting for any of them).
    All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

    “I do not believe Donald Trump should be prevented from being president of the United States by any court,” Christie told a crowd on Tuesday at a New Hampshire town hall. “I think it’s bad for the country,” if that happens, and “I think it would cause a lot of anger” if that choice was taken away, he said.

    Christie said he had not read the decision, but said it was inappropriate to punish Trump for inciting an insurrection on Jan. 6 without having a criminal trial on that matter.
