Red Mosquito debuted as lead single on K-Rock in NYC in 96?

This is going waaaaaay back lol, thinking about No Code, and trying to remember hearing about it for the first time. I might be hallucinating or not recalling correctly, but my boss at the time, who knew I was a PJ fanatic, said he heard the new PJ song on K-Rock, and he said it was awful. I'm pretty sure he said that they said it was Red Mosquito. Was RM sent to some stations as the lead single and not Who You Are?

I bought one of these off eBay to throw on a cooler and the guy sent me like 10 of them.

I still have my shirt from when they came back after Free-FM. Then they went to Top 40. And back again to K-Rock

I remember Mancow debuting Who You Are on Rock 103.5 here in Chicago.  And he kept inserting the "rock 1035" tag in the song so having that taped off the radio it was burned in my memory for a while

I don’t recall hearing red mosquito on 92.3 back in the day.  Must have been who you are.

Unless someone went rogue. Back then you could do that. Not as much as the 60s-80s. But now that 2 or 3 companies own all the stations. There's no more of that.

They did leak some of the album early.  RM might have been one of them.  But it wasn't played more than once.
His eminence has yet to show.

  • Yeah, remember radio stations lol? 92.3 in New York was GREAT back in the day. Stern in the morning, great rock music all day.

I stopped listening to 92.3 after Stern left, followed him to Sirius, gave up on him for good about a year ago. His shows became insufferable. And I was someone who had listened for 25 years, and was even on his show once.

Now the only thing I listen to on the radio is FM sports talk/games. I don't stream anything. I listen to the music in my collection on my phone, nothing else.
