Surely the guys have enough outtakes and B-Sides to release? So my thoughts are this, should it be released to the masses in different formats,or a limited numbered editional run?
just a hunch, but I don't know if the band cares to release any more music that they didn't initially want to release. I mean, I would think Lost Dogs was more or less just a way to monetize the songs that had been leaked on the internet up to that point, and throw a few extra bones to the fans. But now? what's the motivation?

I mean, if the songs are just gathering dust?
I understand the days of living off album sales is over. But the machine needs to garner income somehow. I doubt other releases like "Lets Play Two" sold all that.

It was a part of their contract with Sony to release 7 albums, a best-of, and a (b-side) compilation. Since they're not under contract with anyone anymore, they can do whatever they want, but that also means they don't have a record company to front the money to pay producers and mixers to fuck around with old stuff (except Josh Evans with live stuff for Nugs, I guess)...

interesting. did not (obviously, lol) know that.

I generally assumed they might hold onto a lot of the unreleased stuff until they're retired or inactive as a band. Generally you want to have some stuff on reserve to release after you cease to be a band. It's a bit tough if you've already released everything in the vault prior to then? On the flip side many of us aren't that much younger than the band (10 to 15 years?). If they go distance like the Stones, we could all be 65 to 70 before it would come out. It'd be nice to enjoy that kind of stuff while we're younger.
Maybe they'll put out another unreleased/bsides comp if they have a dry spell or decide to become a live only band?

Would 7 years between the last 2 records constitute a "dry spell"?
I like the idea of a general release, but I'd like to see a compilation of every track from the fan club singles made available to 10C members only.
Barney that is a great idea.
