POLL- The WEAKEST LINK: MOVIE SEQUELS - ROUND 3

MedozKMedozK Tennessee Posts: 9,212
So, I decided to pull some great sequels from my memory to discuss what we think is the BEST MOVIE SEQUEL from this list. Now I know that some of you may have other sequels that you think are better than all on the list, but lets just let this go for the time being. Pick the film that you think is the WEAKEST LINK from the ones provided and when we finish we can discuss if anyone has any that could maybe beat our winner here.

Now to Round 3 to determine the BEST MOVIE SEQUEL from the films listed.

You are going to pick the film that you think is the "Weakest Link" after 2 days I remove the two (2) movie with the most votes. We will then move on to ROUND 4.

THE GODFATHER, PART II (1974)
ALIENS (1986)
EVIL DEAD 2: DEAD BY DAWN (1987) - Eliminated Round 1
THE DARK KNIGHT (2008)
STAR WARS: EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980)
TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY (1991)
MAD MAX 2: THE ROAD WARRIOR (1982) - Eliminated Round 2
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014) - Eliminated Round 2
INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE (1989)
BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II (1989) - Eliminated Round 1

Yeah, that alien radar/geiger reader sound was ingrained in my mind forever. And then when they were in the ceiling and the futile attempt to escape, yikes! It was nice to see Paul Reiser's character get his due though.

If only the same had happened to Paul Buchman.

    This is completely wrong.

Any fan of The Batman was waiting for a Joker performance that wasn't Jack Nicholsons or Tim Burtons abomination(fun at the time though).
It is the highest ranked of any Batman film.

Yeah, this is a dumb post.

That PG13 "let's play pretend we are a serious drama" HEAT-ripoff should have been split up in two movies for one.

And that is is the "highest ranked" (Whatever that means) just works more in my favor about it being overrated. Which it is.

He's spot on. The Dark Knight is the Nirvana of movies. Both have been wildly overrated ever since their star tragically died.

The Dark Knight is so convoluted. Lose Two-Face and add more Joker (the only good thing about the movie) and it’s be so much better.

While I agree with this assessment, I will say that at least I made it to the end of The Dark Knight

I can't say the same for Heat (or any Michael Mann film, for that matter). If Batman were in it, maybe....

As I said, split it up in two. Have the cliffhanger be Aaron with half his face off.

Who hasn't checked out when there are prisonerns on a ferry in like act 45 of the film... NO ONE. EVERYONE HAS CHECKED OUT IN CHRISTOPHER NOLANS ABOMINATION.

Nobody that read the comics didn't love the Dark Knight.

If you've ever read Killing Joke/Arkham Asylum or anything from Moore like Dark Knight Returns then this was THE Batman movie you enjoyed.  It continued the darker side of Batman and finally showed the Joker as a true psychopath and not a colorful cartoon clown.

The Two-Face subplot was pretty lame. Either have him already established at the beginning of the movie or develop the evolution of his character and let it not be resolved by the end of the movie.

Was thinking maybe it would align with Miller since it approximated the title, but no.

Nicholson's Joker was a homicidal maniac who made jokes -- you know, like in the comics.

Ledger's Joker was a wannabe homicidal maniac who wore makeup -- you know, like in a cheap psychological thriller.

I agree with both of these statements. Have Harvey be Harvey throughout, burn his face near the end, and literally the final shot of the movie could be him revealing the burned half of his face.

And the ferry part is so contrived. As is Joker’s escape from the interrogation room, and the way Harvey is burned (the “save one or the other” stuff)

I forgot to add Miller to the mix, very good.

The Joker character by Nicholson is not in any way a correct portrayal like the above mentioned comics.  Not even close.

The argument to be made for pretty decent fealty to a comic book run would be for The Winter Soldier, but y'all bastards apparently like overwrought Nolan drek more than this dark romp from Marvel.

Nicholsons was too cartoony and resembled the 60's TV show more so than the current comic climate at the time.

Batman Begins is better than 1989 Batman

I find it hard to believe that any comic fan didn't enjoy DK over any other one.  You are in a very very small minority.
