Yeah. It’s pretty cool. This semester I am teaching forensic anthropology, medical anthropology, globalization and culture, and an 8 week graduate course on juvenile crime and delinquency. All online.

I took an Intro to Anthropology course in college once. Think I attended maybe five classes all semester and squeezed out a D+. Good times!

Well i worked at my last job (retail store) for almost 15 years before we filed for chapter 11 and officially closed at the end of October.

Right now I'm working at a supply company that makes disinfectants, cleaning supplies, etc... I'm a packer there and it's a temp job. It does pay pretty nice and the hours are good. Time goes by quickly most of the time. It's very repetitive though. For now it will do until I figure out what I really want to do. I know it's not retail and I don't want to do this permanently.

I have done some of it in a small scale. Its mad. I love stone  and spent years doing paving with york stone and Indian sandstone. Very pretty in the  rain and the pointing of said paving i used to enjoy making it all stand out. The weather  here makes only a few good months to work nicely though

I run the Optical of my wife's private practice Optometry office.  The boring side is scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, billing, filing insurance claims, and ordering glasses/contacts/office and optical supplies.
The fun side is meeting with frame reps and selecting which frames we will bring in to sell, helping people pick out new frames, helping then understand their lens options, doing the measurements necessary to make them, and dispensing them/troubleshooting issues.

I was in retail for a very long time—I managed two independent bookstores, and I was a buyer/merchandiser for two different (no longer operational in the brick-and-mortar sense) record store chains. I enjoyed it a lot more than what I do now, but I couldn’t pay the bills or healthcare coverage. My girlfriend at the time (now wife) had an office job and claimed me as a domestic partner on her very reasonable healthcare plan.

I don’t know if the retail game is still the same, but the harsh economic realities of being a retail worker whose health and safety was apparently less valued than someone who sits on his ass in a cubicle all day is what sent me down another career path.
