I’m all in on Sun Ra. Picked up “Of Abstract Dreams” yesterday which was a radio performance in Philly in either ‘74 or ‘75 they figured. Unmask the Batman is just an awesome track. Had a listen to the Singles collections online and ordered both volumes this morning.

I’ve been sticking with the Strut releases as they are pretty consistent. How is that pressing? I’ve read Space is the Place is one of the essentials.

The Sutro Park is a fine pressing.  The funny thing about this for me is that when I saw this, I was thinking I was getting another Sun Ra record I had read about called Space is the Place which I later picked up as a Blue Thumb/Verve/UMG reissue.  The title similarities are confusing.  THough both are great in their own way ("In Space is the Place" is the soundtrack" and "Space in the Place" is a different album),  I find the latter to be a more interesting and pleasing.

I'm with you on those Strut releases.  I like them a lot!  It's also cool that this label is from San Francisco and is named after a very nice park in the city:

I saw U2 when the toured to back the War album.  That was a great show and opening for them was a band I had never heard of but instantly loved what they were doing, The Alarm.  A double knock out concert!
If you haven't heard it, check out the Alarm's debut self-titled EP, a most excellent recording!

I have heard the Alarm, but not in a while. My first U2 show was the Joshua Tree tour, and have seen them several times since. They put on a great live show!!
