    The man was a legend. Not just breaking the home run record, but putting up with all of the racial hate mail and death threats that got thrown his way as he was doing it.

    I got a chance to see him speak at my college back in the late 90s.  Most of the content dealt with overcoming the deluge of hate.  He was very inspirational, especially coming from a 20 year old at the time with very little relevant world-view.
