Indiana decided not to redistrict which led to more trump tweets directed at Gov Braun. Braun openly supported redistricting (bowing to trump) yet the state senators declined. trump is blaming Braun for not getting it done. He basically said that Braun wouldn't be governor without his support which is total bullshit...Indiana will elect anyone Gov as long as they say they are a republican.

the funniest part in all of this redistricting nonsense is texas started it, and the latino districts that went for trump in 2024 went back to dems in the recent elections. if that happens, texas will have jerrymandered themselves out of two seats while californina, in response to texas, actually pulled off increasing dem seats.

I think it’s important when we see cracks in support. Especially in *this* world. She sucks, but she’s right and he’s being weird about this. 

Extrapolate this out to broader MAGA. It explains why Trumps support is waning. And it’s important that this ideology loses is concentrated momentum. This is good if you hate fascism. 

I agree... Ultimately, we want the MAGA cultists to see the light, right? As they do, it's not going to help anything to bash them over the heads with what they did. I will personally never find it in myself to take an ex-MAGA seriously, but Dems as a whole have to be willing to be civil to and on some level accepting of the MAGAs who leave the cult.... I feel like they need to be handled like anybody else who escapes a cult. They joined in the first place because they were scared and vulnerable one way or another, and were offered a way to belong. I don't think the best way to deal with such people is to tell them, "fuck you, you idiot, you're irredeemable!" They'll just turn back to the cult, or join a new one. Ex-MAGAs are going to have to be handled delicately if the Dems want to turn shit away from crazy at all. That doesn't mean they have to suddenly like ex-MAGAs or think they're decent people, but they do have to manage them appropriately and play it smart.

The first step to recovery is for the cultists to acknowledge that they were in a cult. Then they need to acknowledge and apologize for the damage they have inflicted on democracy and the ‘Murican people. After that, and this is particularly true of the donors and elected representatives, they need to go sit in the corner facing the wall and reflect on all of it for a good long time. Then and only then may they maybe be redeemed. Folks like Maggie Three Names and all of those MAGA sycophants need to resign from public office, be banned from holding public office and never be heard from again. Kinda like Tonya Harding and Richard Jewell. They’re traitors to the nation and democracy.

The rules have changed and it’s time to start playing by them and not relying on the “norms” and “precedents” that used to act as guardrails. I’m afraid that the damage done is lasting and permanent and that “normal” will not be attainable.

I meant Shane Stant, the actual assailant. Richard Jewell was accused of the Atlanta Olympics bombing. Jeff Galooly was married to Tonya Harding and planned the attack on Nancy Kerrigan. Regardless, all three have retreated into relative obscurity and the dustbin of history, where MAGA and particularly Maggie Three Names needs to go.
