    Those cops are heroes.
    Wow.
    this

this is what I'm talking about

cops release a video in 4 days showing how they managed not to get blown up and suddenly they're heroes for just doing their job

cops kill a civilian, video gets buried, police chief makes some statement about how the person wasn't following orders, media digs up every traffic ticket the deceased ever had, cops get off

those cops aren't heroes, they had a missed opportunity to stop this a year ago, and now a city block has been destroyed

if I fucked up that bad at my job, I would be fired or worse

they aren't heroes. they walked by a van that got blown up.

but they are also beholden to the law. they can't just search a person's home without cause, without a warrant, without their superiors instructing them to do so.

it's weird that when they follow the law, to you that's a "missed opportunity".

The cops in Nashville aren't the same cops that killed a civilian.  You can't blame the actions of one cop on all other cops.

The Nashville cops did a great job.  They cleared a lot of people out of that area and walked right by the RV that blew up.

Also...those cops were not given any info on the bomber.

agreed. I forgot about how they cleared those people out at great potential harm to themselves.

Exactly.  The FBI had a tip on this guy a year ago.  That has nothing to do with the Nashville cops, but some will still spin it to say the cops failed to do something.

It does make me wonder if the bomber waited until the cops were clear before he tripped the bomb.  He was surely inside the RV watching what was going on.

Yep.  I stayed right behind the AT&T building last year.  2nd street has lots of apartments and there are a lot of homeless folks.   Those six or so cops were going off of the RV’s countdown to evacuate people. I think what you’re seeing (based off reports) in the bodycam video is after the countdown had already ended and switched to an “Evacute now” message.  I also heard that the RV played “Downtown” by Petula Clark at some point.
    Eerie scene.

I do have to say that the ball was really dropped by not interviewing Warner over a year ago when his girlfriend called police about his bomb making.

Why didn't they at least pursue an interview with him?  They just let it go because they knocked on the door and he didn't answer.  Makes no fucking sense.

maybe they didn't have the manpower to investigate further based on nothing but the girlfriend who was deemed to be having a "mental episode" and was taken to a psych hospital?

    just one possibility.

    But that's in 2265!

Marc Singer and the Fifth Column tried back in 1984, too, but clearly, these bastards are here to stay.
