what does that mean, to trust or any other verb which one can trust?

Hmmm Big Man, I always thought that as a verb is a "doing" word what is meant is: I wish I was trusting you and then I'll never let you down. I wish I was already trusting. That probably makes no sense to you and I've confused you more. Sorry! I'm an Aussie so...............not surprising!

I had recently been on the receiving end of some very generous peoples efforts as of late and it inspired me to write a lyric for wishlist of my own that I think would be cool for Ed to sing once...
"I wish that everyone could see your generosity, I wish I deserved half as much as has been given me."
"For 50 million hands upraised and open toward the sky"
"i wish i was the verb 'to trust' and never let you down"
"I wish I was a messenger and all the news was good"
