    Hmmm Big Man, I always thought that as a verb is a "doing" word what is meant is: I wish I was trusting you and then I'll never let you down. I wish I was already trusting. That probably makes no sense to you and I've confused you more. :D Sorry! I'm an Aussie so...............not surprising! ;)

    "I wish I was the messenger and all the news was good"

    I had recently been on the receiving end of some very generous peoples efforts as of late and it inspired me to write a lyric for wishlist of my own that I think would be cool for Ed to sing once...

    "I wish that everyone could see your generosity, I wish I deserved half as much as has been given me."
