After my dad wouldn't take me to see them in Portland in 93 because we should "wait until they have more albums out", he made up for it by pulling me out of school at lunch time, drove us up to Seattle from the Portland area, stood in the long ass line outside Key Arena, watched the show with me and drove us back that night. When the opening notes of Long Road kicked in, my knees almost gave out. My heart was racing. It's to this day the most incredible live show moment for me because I can't say I've ever been as excited to see a band since.
that reminds me of the first song of my second show...fargo 2003....2 months shy of the 10 year anniversary of my first show.....lights out......ed starts into Arc. I start to weep and feel weak. My wife's friend, who is also a big PJ fan, wraps her arm around me. when i found out later how many times they played Arc on that tour and the significance of it..... it was chilling.....
Arc was performed after the 1st encore in Dallas that year, but not included on the bootleg. Was it on the Fargo boot? I will likely never relive that experience and it still bothers me to this day that I can't at least hear it again as it was that night.
Been trying this on both Facebook and Twitter to see what song gets the most answers, I figured that Release or Long Road would easily take the win, but it seems like everyone has a different answer. So in the next 24 hours I’ll compile a big list to see what songs popped people’s Pearl Jam cherry the most.

Ah, I vaguely remember this now. At the time I was wondering if it wasn't an option because of the equipment Ed used when it was performed. I remember hearing about Roskilde on MTV News (funny to think about now) and reading a Rolling Stone article about the event and butchered the pronunciation as well.

Check page 3 or4 of thread. There were obviously way more after the fact but this gives good sample size
Hi, I host a Pearl Jam Podcast. We go back to some of the classic shows in their history and break down the entire setlist front to back. From historic perspective, to performances, to setlist construction, to fan stories. We do our best to capture the magic that is their live act and help you relive those memories, or if you weren't there, maybe turn you on to a show you've never heard before.
Live On 4 Legs can be found on Apple Podcast, Spotify and any other major podcast platform. But please support our website and check out the episodes archived there. Oh, and the Concertpedia as well (for you Five Horizons and Two Feet Thick fans, we've picked up where they've left off)
I'm embarrassed now. Oceans was a small white whale for me for a long time. Lollapalooza was so long ago. Turns out it was the very first PJ song I'd ever heard live.
Don't be embarrassed. If we don't remember hearing a song does it really matter that we did close to 30 years ago? I haven't heard Garden since 1994 and I am always hoping it turns up on a setlist for that reason.
Was played at Hartford 2006, Boston 2, 5/25/06, Hartford in 2008 and Mansfield 2, 6/30/08. Did you not attend any of those 4?
It was played at MSG in 13 I believe
They did Brooklyn 2013, but Garden was played MSG 2008 and 2016. Shocked they haven’t played it every time they played there
2000- Atlanta, GA: New Orleans, LA: Memphis, TN: Nashville, TN
2003- Raleigh, NC: Charlotte, NC: Atlanta, GA
2004- Asheville, NC (hometown show)
2006- Cincinnati, OH
2008- Columbia, SC
2009- Chicago, IL x 2 / Ed Vedder- Atlanta, GA x 2
2010- Bristow, VA
2011- Alpine Valley, WI (PJ20) x 2 / Ed Vedder- Chicago, IL
2012- Atlanta, GA
2013- Charlotte, NC
2014- Cincinnati, OH
2015- New York, NY
2016- Greenville, SC: Hampton, VA:: Columbia, SC: Raleigh, NC : Lexington, KY: Philly, PA 2: (Wrigley) Chicago, IL x 2 (holy shit): Temple of the Dog- Philly, PA
Other shows I've attended had Love Boat Captain, Oceans, Release, Why Go, Long Road, Sometimes, Wash, and Pendulum. So only one repeat which is pretty fortunate I think . Final track was Yellow Ledbetter for most of the shows though (I think 7 of the 9 shows with Alive and Indifference (I think as it wasn't released yet) being the other two)
