Joe had a slam dunk in 2024...really truly did.

Then he left the border wide open and is going to lose instead of being the Commander in Chief and handling it.

One will have the 25th invoked because he is mentally lost and the other will end up in federal prison.

Now we get a long year of annoying political drama with 2 ridiculous presidential nominees.  Basically you have to vote for the VP cause neither Joe nor Donny are fit for office.
The GOP walked away from bipartisan negotiated measures to strengthen border security (measures which the border patrol approved of) because trump told them to. It's too valuable a platform for trump's re-election campaign. This isn't debatable, but somehow in your view, "[Biden} left the border wide open".

Your position is untethered from reality.
The American Public was appalled at that shit burger pile of legislation. $60b for Ukraine and $18b or whatever for Israel and only $10b for us? Fuck out of here.  They saved us.  And I am a tried and true independent swing vote.  I have voted more democratic then republican in my life.  But it's going in a dangerous direction with the libs.

Joe has Executive powers to close the border and deploy the troops.

I would venture you are confused and don't understand the Presidents powers.
The public was "appalled"?  Is that a joke?  It was in the public eye for about an hour before the House shut it down.  You don't speak for the public.  I wasn't appalled.  I'm all for more funding for Ukraine and Israel.  So careful with your broad generalizations.

Second, tell me about the exec power you think gives the president the power to override existing congressional rules.  Because everything Trump tried got tied up in court.  This law actually takes away the imperial presidency which I thought we wanted.

Third, since you are against the Senate bill, are you saying you support that bill if it did not have Ukraine or Israel funding attached?

Sir, I spoke for the majority. Polling was like 80/20 against the bill.

You are what is called the minority.

No legislation is needed to fix the border. President has existing powers to handle it.

Yeah... no, the American public was in no way shape or form appalled by that legislation.

The US Border Patrol approved of it, and the GOP, at the direction of trump, took it away from them.

Got a link to the 80/20 polling? Or is that from your Faceturd feed? Or "social media?"

Why do you have an issue with supporting Ukraine?  Israel is a little trickier (for me at least) but I do not see an option other than support Ukraine against the communist dictator Putin.  And that used to be the GOP's party line....why has that changed?

Where is that poll.  Share it with me.  I've never seen a poll on this bill, so I'm fascinated to know where you came up with 80/20.

What are the powers that the president has to unilaterally manage immigration?  Which power conferred by the Constitution or law that give him that authority?  I'm just a simple man, who refers to the Constitution.  So I look at Article 1, Section 8 for my guidance, which grants that authority to Congress.  But if there's something else you're referring to, I'm dying to learn.

Since you want to jump in, why don't you answer it the questions.  Where is that poll, and how did the president wrestle away immigration policy from Congress when it is literally a power delegated to congress in the Constitution.  You've read the Constitution, right?

If the border is wide open, how are there apprehensions at the border, as well as deportations happening?

And why did the other guy running for president tell his party to specifically not do anything to help fix the issue? jimjam seems to be blaming Biden for that....

Why don't you research how President Trump did it? I can tell you that one tool he successfully employed was the 'Remain In Mexico' policy, administered by the Department of Homeland Security (and foolishly ended by Joey when he took office). Another successful move by President Trump was his negotiations with the president of Mexico, in which he promised to impose a 5% tariff on all Mexican imports if they didn't act to stem the flow of illegal border crossers. That negotiation resulted in a hearty "Yes sir, President Trump!" and the deployment of 15,000 Mexican troops to the U.S./Mexican border to back up that promise. You've read 'The Art of The Deal', havent you?

  • I'm so mad at Biden for not using the power of his office to shut the border down but I'm definitely not mad at trump and the gop for killing the bipartisan approved measures to strengthen our border security, measures which the US Border Patrol approved of.

I'm a very serious independent swing voter.
  • Funny how they conflate covid lockdowns with a border lockdown, isn't it? But you know, social media is a legitimate source of information.

Since you want to jump in, why don't you answer it the questions.  Where is that poll, and how did the president wrestle away immigration policy from Congress when it is literally a power delegated to congress in the Constitution.  You've read the Constitution, right?
You've read 'The Art of The Deal', havent you?

using the authority under title 42. You know the action taken during a national health emergency. one in which gop states were screaming to have declared ended. One in which gop states sued to have ended. One in which biden admin sued to have authority to end using title 42 but the courts denied him that authority FORCING admin to keep in place.

NOW that the declaration has been made that the pandemic and related health emergency under which title 42 was exercised is over you want him to exercise authority he no longer has under title 42? is that it?

Joe had a slam dunk in 2024...really truly did.

Then he left the border wide open and is going to lose instead of being the Commander in Chief and handling it.

One will have the 25th invoked because he is mentally lost and the other will end up in federal prison.

The RIM policy very likely violated the INA, an actual real life law, that requires those seeking asylum to be detained in the United States.  Innovation Law Lab v Nielsen is the case that was winding its way through the 9th circuit and likely would have ended up at the SCOTUS.  The Biden administration believed that this EO was unconstitutional because it ran afoul of the INA.  This is why the administration chose to end the policy and pursue a long term solution that respected the powers given to Congress in the Constitution.

That long term policy was the Senate bill that was released two weeks ago and shat upon by the Speakers, in deference to Trump so he has a campaign issue.  God forbid there is a consensus on the matter.
