    Anthony is known to be a super nice guy. But the only way EVH was getting back on the road and into the studio at that point was the lure of playing with Wolf. So, I'm fine with Anthony being banished. Got to see 5 more VH shows over the 3 tours and got to take my then 11 yr. old son to see them at the last show they played here in 2015.

    But you did not see VH. You saw EVH with a sideshow.

    At that point is was. Not Even close to 83 or 84, a shell of their former selves.

    Did you see them at any point during that period?
    Last show I saw in 2015 may have been the best I ever saw Ed play out of 18 shows across all eras and singers. Roth wasn't great, but let's be honest, Roth wasn't great vocally in the 70's and 80's. Alex was still Alex and Wolf is an incredibly gifted musician. 
    Musically the show was fantastic. Roth left something to be desired. And Wolf handled the MA backing vocals without missing a beat.

    No. Never bothered after the 1984 tour when I saw Valerie Bertinelli run on stage and attack Dave after he said something about Ed's smile on his face. I knew it was over then. I saw Sammy solo several times before VH (opening for ZZ top etc.) and there was no way I was going to go. I simply do not like his music or him as a performer. I do not bash people for enjoying an evening with Ed and Alex, that is great. Ed was amazing and Alex is underrated as a drummer. Something about adding Wolf rubbed me wrong in the same way I will not pay to see David Gilmour play with his daughter on the current tour. MA deserved that spot. And yes DLR was terrible on the reunion tours. I saw VH on the diver down tour in 82 at a relatively small arena and they fucking killed it. Hard rock at its finest. It was before keyboards and the MTV fame of the 1984 record. Ed still smoked on stage and put that cigarette on his guitar when he did eruption. Fucking classic. None of the incarnations after could come close to that. I even enjoyed the 1984 tour (x2) despite the fact that I am not a huge fan of that record. That said, I can understand why seeing them in the later years was still a great time.
