A sealed one sold in August on Discogs for $3499US
I sold my sealed last week for $2000.
The $3500 sale is probably an outlier, but the demand for these is there. A mint sealed copy is rare. I opened mine a month ago and spun it. Was glad I did. Sounded amazing.
In fact, I’m going to listen to it again this weekend 👍
Good luck to the OP. I tried really hard to track one of these down a couple of years ago. Had a ton of great stuff to trade + cash, but it never happened. I still hope they release this as a standard vault release. I don’t care about the colored vinyl or packaging, I just want to be able to spin it whenever I want.
One sold on ebay 8/12/2020 for 400 sealed!!! but it has 2020/2000 anyone know anything about that???
Haha yep, just responded to your post in the other thread.
I bought that one. It wasn't $400. The seller won the recent contest that was announced a few months back on the 10c newsletter. So the # wasn't 2020/2000, it was indicating that it was from the 2020 contest and the name of the sponsor.
I'm thinking about opening that one since I have another sealed with a number in the 200's. What I paid for it is about what I'd pay for an opened one. And actually opening it myself and being the first to listen to it I think would be cool.

That’s what I did. Mine was sealed for over 15 years. With a glass of top-shelf rum and my wife I opened it and played it all the way through... LOUD.
It was an amazing experience really. Think I’ll play it again this weekend.
Great stories. All good PJ stories lead back here. Thanks for the cool and interesting history.
My story is less interesting. I was an active 10c'er back then like I am now. It went for sale. I was a poor as student. I think it was onsale for just under 48 hours. I remember buying mine the evening of the 2nd day it was for sale. When I looked the next day they were gone. Happy that I pulled the trigger at a time I didn't have much for extra money. The worse part is my poor student self didn't go to the Benayora show because I only won access to the most expensive tickets through 10c and at the time I couldn't afford them :(
Damn. My story is the opposite yet similar. I was working and newly married. We did not have a pot to pee in so to speak. Money was tight. That's what she said... sorry. I won tickets and went to the show. I guess after spending money on tickets and a few posters I could not justify spending that on vinyl for some reason. What the hell? I will get another one day, and it will not be sealed. I will spin! Viva La Vinyl!
Be different & make a difference. Decency & kindness @ a grassroots level works.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've been meaning to ask for a long time.....were these records just a limited Ten Club thing when they dropped?

Maybe a bit to the people who knew. Back then I'd have laughed this off. Wasn't really into pj anyway, but I think majority of people thought vinyl was dead. Now stuff like this sells out in minutes or less!!
So, they obviously knew that this kind of secondary market was going to develop around this release. I never even owned the CD of that show.
No because neither the vinyl craze nor the PJ merch craze was nowhere near what it has become. Certainly it was billed as limited, but I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted what has happened.
Interesting. I guess vinyl was always much sought after for the people that were heavily into it, but that was a much smaller number of people. I was always able to get the records I wanted for cheaper prices up until about 2009, then I noticed that stuff began creeping up in price.

I mean, Benny was available from the PJ site for 2 days, if I recall. Can you imagine something like it, if it were sold today, be available for more than 2 hours? Maybe 2 minutes.
If I remember correctly, the drop was announced. A midweek drop at midnight, New York time. The site exploded on checkout, at least for me. Took several hours to checkout. Still haven’t recovered.

You’re right, but the site eventually unclogged and they were available for 36-48 from my recollection. Maybe someone else who has a clearer memory than I do can chime in.

I don't know if I have a clearer memory, but I definitely remember it being up for a couple days before selling out.

That's what I remeber, too. I wasn't able to get it back then. Price was $35.
