WATCH METALLICA LIVE AT SLANE CASTLE TONIGHT AT 8 PM EDT
While we’re all doing our part and staying home, we find ourselves missing live music, so how about we dive back into a few of our favorite shows at a socially responsible distance? Not to sound too cheesy, but now more than ever, we’re in this together, and staying connected is how we’ll get through it. With that in mind, we’re bringing a series of Live Metallica shows right to your couch!

Starting at 8 PM EDT tonight, we’ll be debuting our brand new concert series, #MetallicaMondays, where we’ll stream the complete video of a live show for you on our YouTube channel and on Facebook every week.

We’re kicking it off with an iconic location, so please tune in tonight to watch Metallica: Live at Slane Castle - June 8, 2019.

Slane is just the beginning… tune in weekly for #MetallicaMondays to get a taste of live Metallica. We know… it’s not quite the same as the real deal, and trust us, we wish we could be out there with you again!

Phish is doing it too, on Tuesdays.

    https://phish.com/news/announcing-dinner-and-a-movie-tuesday-evenings/

Tomorrow night (and every Tuesday for a while), Phish proudly presents Dinner And A Movie: An Archival Video Series. We’ll be airing a full show in its entirety for free beginning at 8:30 pm ET at webcast.livephish.com or Phish’s Facebook page. First up is Phish’s show from August 31, 2012 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado.

As for the Dinner part of the evening, cook along with us! You can find a recipe for Sue & Trey Anastasio’s “Between Me and My Mouth” Vegetarian Chili below. Please don’t feel the need to take a special trip to buy groceries to make this, and be smart regarding social distancing and staying at home. Feel free to post photos of your version of this dish, or share whatever you’re making. Tag us at #phishdinnerandamovie. We’ll post a different recipe every week.

In addition, we’ll select a non-profit doing important work right now, and all donations made via The WaterWheel Foundation that day will be given to that organization. You can donate any time at dry.gd/wwf. We have selected WhyHunger as our beneficiary for this webcast. WhyHunger provides critical resources to support grassroots movements and fuel community solutions rooted in social, environmental, racial and economic justice. During the COVID-19 crisis, it’s essential to protect food access for all people, especially those who are most vulnerable. For information about their organization, click here.

    Stay safe!

Metallica seem to be a bit more fan-focussed these days than Pearl Jam.

It's a no brainer, but I'm not holding my breath.

PJ hasn't been the biggest purveyor of the video format.   Not allowing filming of their shows, often asking that their performances at festivals not included in the live stream etc....    While they do put out vhs/dvd/bluray's every once in a while, I'm not sure they've embraced the format enough to put out a bunch.

I also agree about Metallica.  They do a pretty good job.

Hoping that Metallica release the Wembley Stadium show in 2007 for purely sefish reasons. Yeah PJ are a little more finicky about official live video content. They didn't release the I-Days footage from Milan in 2018 and I'm pretty sure most other bands did. Ed's voice was only starting to come back but to be honest I doubt that they'd have released video of the gig anyway.

Agreed, these are a fun watch. I was a huge Metallica fan back in the day. Kinda fell off a bit with Load and Reload.  But I really enjoy going back and listening to everything up to the Black album.

And yes, you'd think that this is something that PJ could do very easily.  Like, without anything needed from the guys. Just their approval.

Wonder if part of the Monday show was shot by a fan? The far shot looked like it could have been.

Craziest concert I went to was the 1986 Cow Palace show where they opened for Ozzy in support of the Master of Puppets record. From start to finish, it was like an explosion. Everything was GA and the entire front half of the floor was absolute chaos. I was 18, young and fearless so I loved it, but it was nuts. I haven't seen anything even close to that since. After their set was over, people seemed a little stunned by the whole thing. Then Ozzy came out and was horrible.

I do wish PJ was more communicative with fans and did special things like this.

For sure. I mean they just dropped a new album and it’s been basically nothing. Very strange.

Looked like they had missing sections from the house cam that they filled in with that shot.  I believe Wherever I May Roam was missing as well early in the set.
