What is your favorite sporting event of all time?

I just turned on CBS showing the 1983 NCAA Championship between NC State and Houston.  I’ve considered this the best college basketball game ever played and my favorite sporting event of all time.  What’s yours?

As a MD bball fan it is easily 2002 Final Four followed closely by the first Ravens Super Bowl win.
    Took this picture yesterday....

Game 5, 2016 World Series. I was in Wrigley.
Still stuns me to think Dexter Fowler was the first black man to bat in a world series for the cubs.

Was that the game Arodis Chapman pitched three innings?

    Rugby World Cup Final 2011

  • Wow.  So many to think of.
    Tough question.
Maybe the 2003 Orange Bowl, USC over Iowa.
Carson Palmer's last game - the Trojans found their groove and were ready to explode all over the backs of other college football teams for the next few years.
It is quite something to realize that something special is happening and although that was not a championship game or anything, we knew it was a special time.  That staff was so great and we were getting great results.

Lots (and lots) of other favorites.

If I had to choose one of my teams, it would probably be the 2014 Wild Card game, Royals vs Athletics.  Down 7-3 and came back to win, after KC’s first playoff appearance in 29 years.

Easiest question I have ever answered. Game 7. This is the camera that Raji Davis' HR hit. That was one of the most gut wrenching moments of my life. But... =)  =)  =)

Don't care about sports, but I guess the one I remember is Sweden winning the bronze in the 1994 World Cup

Or the Olympic Games final of 1994 with Forsbergs goal and Salos save

Oh, I remember WC 94, we were in the same group, and you had a great team, Andersson, Larson, Brohlin, dahlen. .

Well of course ‘08 is better cause we won. But I was an adult by then. It was fun and exciting, but it doesn’t touch the excitement of your team playing in the World Series when you’re 10 years old.

A runner-up sporting event for me is Wrestlemania 10. I’m a big Bret Hart guy.

Yeah, the cubs used him up that year.

That was one of the gutsiest performances I have ever seen from a pitcher.

It's really difficult to pick just one.
I guess I'll have to go with the NY Rangers winning the Cup in 1994.
But the Giants beating the Pats in 2008 is damn close.

Miracle on Ice just barely edged out the Rangers’ 1994 cup run.

It was similar for me in how beating dirty Jersey was almost more meaningful than beating Vancouver for the Cup. Jersey was USSR, and Vancouver was Finland.

I only put the Rangers ahead because I was seven when Team USA played the Russians, and while I watched it, I don't have the same emotional connection to it.
    But you're right: Jersey=Russians, Vancouver=Finland

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is the best sporting event imo.

My favorite year would have to be 2017, when my alma mater made a Cinderella run to the Final Four, beating a couple of teams/coaches that I really don't like.

I'm assuming your alma mater is South Carolina.  Frank Martin is one of the best coaches in the NCAA.  K-State really screwed themselves by chasing him out of town.
