TICKETMASTER won't refund ticket purchases, not until shows are canceled or rescheduled?

Absolute BS.....TM says they aren't authorized to refund money at this time.

I should be able to get my money back instead of someone else holding my money for the better part of a year while everyone waits to decide.

I received an email from TM saying to reply to the email with the refund request.  I then received a response saying I had to send another request to another email.  That was responded with "no email support is available for this request"  and I had to either use a TM LiveChat or call a 1800 number.  The LiveChat wasn't working online and then customer service had a 30 minute wait.  By the time I got through, I was told by the 1st operator and then the 2nd operator/manager that no refunds are being given on any postponed shows right now.

TM may not even survive this... every single sporting event , concert and large gathering canceled and refunds lining up... I didnt request a refund because i know PJ will make good on this. I realize that $121 is a lot of money to some... Even if i have to eat it, its not the end of the world compared to huge losses a lot of people will face in this... Jobs, homes, 401k, relationships....

Im just hoping to not catch that damn virus and hope there is a ventilator available to save me so i can see PJ again.. !@

Yep, I’m running into this problem with TOOL.

I explained that I work in a hospital and deal with sick patients every day.

Their response continues to be “at this time the band and promoter are not offering refunds for this concert”

I certainly won’t be rushing to a TOOL concert anytime soon after the way they’re handling this.

I never received an email about the tickets I bought from the public sale for OKC, but on the "my tickets" part of the TM website it gave me the option of refunding the tickets. I did Tuesday or Wednesday and received an email telling me that my CC account would credited the amount in 7-10 working days. I guess we will see.

A postponed PJ show isnt their priority right now, unfortunately.

They’ve got every event to deal with and are probably short staffed.

Im not defending TM but i’ll still go shower.

I'm surprised at how Tool is handling this. They're only canceling when the local government makes them. You see what's going on all around you and why - just pull the plug.

I am not defending them but it is over a month away from their spring tour. Yes I would like to know today if my QC show is cancelled but I get why they want to see how the next couple of weeks fall out. It is inevitable though and I feel that the announcement of cancelation is not an if but a when will it come.

Yes. It'll happen. After sold F-F tix on March 3 and 8 Toronto tickets (when I was wondering if I could get there, back and then to SD on the 20th without exposure).

Got the email (Edit: This morning)  saying they put the small deposits in my account so I can verify. My account hasn't budged. Prolly won't get refund before CC bill cycle, but it'll happen.

They are busy. Give it more time than normal. Smile

Edit: when you finally get the email saying they sent the micro deposits, those can take 24 hours to show in your bank account. Then funds 7-10 after you have verified your account.

I'm talking about the shows right now. They played Monday and Wednesday night. They were planning to play Boise tomorrow night but the city just moments ago shut them down.

I havent had time to call, I plan on keeping all the tickets that I was personally going to use but have extra tickets I was holding for others I planned on getting refunded.  Seeing as how they have already refunded other F2F buyers from my account I will be pretty pissed if they deny me.

I got the same emails over the last week. One asking me to reply if I want a refund. Than after I did that another one followed telling me show will be made up and if I want a refund to reply. Again, I did. Now today they email that the customer service email team is shut down.
I can just imagine ticketmasters inbox right now is a bomb.
I can wait it out for a bit but 3 tix at a total of $470 would be nice to get back on my CC

Me and buddy went to the TOOL show on Wednesday in Portland and the place was packed. Honestly I was really surprised that the show wasn't postponed/cancelled, especially after the news that PJ were postponing their NA tour and the incident involving the fan who attended their show in New Zealand testing positive for the virus.

I requested a refund for a pair of Toronto tickets (not 10C) and rec’d a message almost immediately afterwards confirming the refund, informing me it should be on my cc within 10 business days.

    No option for refund yet
i reply the email l and receive the same answer that other, nothing for now
but i think that they will have to say the new date in a few days. If they don’t, TM will be take advantages of our money,
il sure that now they don’t have the money to make front all refunds
its a ko hit to TM

This thread is amazing.  What's the rush?  Nobody is going to lose their money.  If not a refund, any tickets not wanted will be sold in 2 minutes on F2F (if applicable).  Pearl Jam were the first group to get ahead of the curve and postpone before government necessitated it.  They should be commended for this.  If the show was going on, you would not have your money now either.  We need to be a bit patient in an emergency and let higher priority issues be addressed first.

In many cases, promoters have cancellation insurance, and to ensure their claims, they often wait for local government to order a cancellation of the event to strengthen the basis for their claims.

I got the email offering the option to get a refund but I'm going to wait and see.  Give it a month or so and see if this crisis ends and we get an idea of postponement dates.  Still considering refunding these and doing Ohana but haven't decided yet.

On my end, Ticketmaster practices are seeming a bit more problematic.  I sold a set of tickets on March 3rd before the shows were cancelled.  Ticketmaster takes their time with payment, and now they (Gilberto is Ticketmaster rep) are saying the following:

    -------------------------

Gilberto"I'm sorry you have not got paid so let me look into the sale for you.

the reason is because...Please understand your payment is currently on hold while we are waiting to determine if your event is going to be canceled or postponed. In order to provide you with as much information as we can, we have created a portal that will be updated with changes to the status of all impacted events, so feel free to check back often.

    9:15 AM

ME - Event status is irrelevant. I sold the tickets so now someone else owns them.9:16 AM

GilbertoYES you are correct and the event is postponed so the buyer can call in at anytime an request a refund on the order and you will not get paid for the sale but do not see that the buyer has done so yet.9:17 AM

ME - But they already paid you. That is between them and you. Now you have both of our payments.9:19 AM

Gilbertoyes but since the event is postponed that is why have not gotten paid your funds like I mentioned prior.....Please understand your payment is currently on hold while we are waiting to determine if your event is going to be canceled or postponed. In order to provide you with as much information as we can, we have created a portal that will be updated with changes to the status of all impacted events, so feel free to check back often.9:20 AM

ME - If they have paid you, then you have been paid twice for the same seat. That is not fair to hold that money. You should hold for them and pay me.9:21 AM

GilbertoI really do apologize but until a new day is announced, your payment will not go through if indeed the buyer does not call in to get a refund for the event.9:22 AM

Anyone else having this problem?  Is there something I am missing or should Ticketmaster be paying the seller and keeping their refund relationship with the buyer?  They forced me to sell through their system and now I don't have a ticket or my money.
