First, the burning question: When do you think concerts will return? Is the industry still holding out hope for the fall or is everyone already looking to 2021?
“It's a moving target almost every day. A few months ago, the industry sort of unanimously thought ‘OK, this will all be over by the summer and we'll have a normal summer.’ But it got worse, not better. A few weeks ago, most agents, managers and bands had pretty much given up on most of the summer, started saying ‘maybe we can get some outdoor shows in August, September.’ Now in the last couple of days, some people still hold out hope for late fall, for November and December. But most people have thrown in the towel, meaning they don't really think shows will be back until 2021. I don't think there's any real reason to believe that there can be national tours until 2021 or until a vaccine is there.
The biggest New Jersey music festival still on the books for 2020 is Asbury Park’s Sea Hear Now festival in September, with Pearl Jam headlining and tens of thousands of people expected. That seems unlikely now, yes?
“Yeah, pretty unlikely.”
Some industry folks have suggested smaller venues could reopen sooner with social distancing measures put in place. Possible or pipe dream?
“Maybe not forever, but for a long time, there's not going to be GA (standing room) shows. I don't know if we'll ever see them again. Shows will belong in theaters big and small. That could really help NJPAC, the State Theatre, Bergen PAC. With reserved seats, you can lay it out so that there is social distancing.

I think this is a pretty good guess as to how things will go. Other than the part about never having GA shows again. That seems a little over the top. Even with seats you're pretty much elbow to elbow with everyone and packed in like sardines in most venues.

I am so looking forward to this show. It feels so far away. But at least it is a confirmed date. I have two other shows I am waiting to hear new dates for. I hope we get the new tour schedule soon.
Canceled my tickets before the rescheduling. I think I’ll wait a little closer to secure tickets. I didnt want my money tied up for 14 months. Let’s just say I splurged and bought 2 tix out of my normal price range
Anyone want to speculate on who the new artists will be? More fun to talk about that than when the vaccine will be ready. So for fun and based on nothing, I’ll throw out the Chili Peppers.

My wife is a teacher, so she won't be able to go since it is during the school year. I am pretty sure I can find someone who would take the road trip with me from Illinois. Does this festival normally sell out? Ideally I would like to wait to buy tickets for it until I am more confident it will actually be held.

It did sell out of regular 2 day tickets last year with DMB as the headliner.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. I will probably wait a while to see how the vaccine outlook progresses and make my decision closer to the end of the year.
On the fence about this. I'm an MSG ticket holder living in the UK and can't really justify the possibility of two separate trips to NY/NJ next year. MSG would be my preference but if I knew for sure that it won't happen next year, I'd jump at this. Decisions decisions.....

I would bet they would set up the shows close enough together since geographically it makes the most sense.

@False_Belief Very unlikely that one but not both of MSG and this occur. I think it will be both or neither. Of course, if you decide to sell your MSG tickets to a fan on here for face value please feel free to PM me!
