anyone near there have any thoughts on accommodations in the area (next towns over etc.) or how close can get to the area and drive back to philly after the show?
Do not stay in any motels in Asbury Park or nearby towns. Filled with deadbeats, drug dealers and prostitutes. There is a Holiday Inn Express right off the parkway in Neptune that’s about 10 minutes out. Or try Eatontown... about 15 minutes away and several name brand hotels to choose from.

I'm in, got my reg. GA ticket. Was going back and forth on GA & GA+, and I ended up couldn't justify the extra nearly 150 for air conditioned bathrooms. The GA+ sit down/ rest area seems to be across the street in the middle of the park near the smallest of the 3 stages, so it won't be a great place to hang out, as any of the better known bands will probably not be on that stage. If it is 85 degrees and as I'm using a port-a-potty, i may have a different opinion at that time.

I am hoping that people don’t decide that the ocean is a better option than a port-a-potty.
I bought a regular GA ticket. I’ve been to Asbury Park before (including D.Clinch’s gallery).
The question I have is for people who have been to the festival before.
How chaotic is the scene going to be after the show? I have two little ones and staying nearby is not an option. I’ll be driving back to NYC after.
Any tips, do or don’ts?
thanks in advance.
So the major route out of AP and back to the parkway (exit 102) is Asbury Avenue. That will likely be a parking lot after the show. Alternate routes would be to go a little further south on Main Street and take Corlies Ave/Rt 33 back to the parkway (exit 100) or head further north into Ocean Twp and head west to Rt 35 and go north into Eatontown and jump on the parkway at exit 105.

Im very very tempted. I really like the Dirty Heads also. Will decide today, GA. I get freaked out in chaotic crowds but the ocean should soothe me. 🙄
I'd stay overnight & go home Monday, traffic not worth it. Especially parkway to turnpike trek. And I'll be solo so not worth it to me.
And I'd go north along the Ocean to somewhere around the Highlands for lodging.
Or maybe @mcgruff10 is taking in10 clubbers? Long time no be here. 😝
Highlands... aka the Bayshore... aka the armpit of the jersey shore.
J/k.
Hey there!
In my late 20's,early 30's my family rented a bungalow for the summer next to the bay. My mom ,dad, brother, sister & I (& assorted partners) did that for about 6 years. It was small, the area was quite blue collar& we had a blast. I cherish those years, dad, then bro, then sis passed away but memories of that cramped hot bungalow & our adventures, mostly under the influence, were hysterical.
My son's great grandmother lived in Keansburg & we spent a lot of time on the boardwalk & water park down there. That would qualify as armpit land but they had a killer kid ride section & it was very affordable. Fries & vinegar everywhere.
I love Point Pleasant, LBI & Wildwood Crest/Diamond Beach, but those were affordable & we had a lot of good times there. 😊💚✌

Sorry... you are right on all counts. But Keansburg is probably the lowest rung on the ladder. 😉
By the way... check out the Nicholas Creamery if you do stay in the Highlands. Amazing ice cream.
