    I'm actually starting to like songs i didn't care for before because of Sirius XM.  my PJ playlist is totally different from theirs.  i've been adding songs to my playlist these past few weeks,  in hiding is one of them

    My almost 3 year old has gotten into the habit of asking me the names of songs he hears that he likes. When Ledbetter was on, he asked me the name, and then told me he likes it!  WooHoo!

    Then again, he also likes when my wife plays Taylor Swift for him, so there is still work to do. 
    IMO if your 3 year old likes pop songs and Disney soundtracks you're on the right track. Parents these days want their toddlers to have the tastes of cool adults but that's not how you get to be an adult who has cool tastes. If you want them to have a lifelong love of music (whatever kind of music they end up liking) you need to let them build up to it.
    Completely agree!  He loves anything that sounds “fun” to him. Pop music, the Disney stuff, dance music, you name it. We expose him to a lot of different stuff and see what he digs. But it still makes me happy when he tells me that he likes Fake Plastic Trees, for example  =)
