Agreed, After the initial shock of the drum sounds and synth, I just like it more each time I listen to it. I think it's the best single since WWS, at least.
As with a lot of their music I didn't get it the first couple of listens but it finally hit me like a truck. I like the song You Are but am not a big fan of it but this song has that vibe and knocks it out of the park. I don't care that is sounds like Bowie, Talking Heads etc. I just care that I want to listen to it over and over again. At first I didn't like that it doesn't have a big bombastic chorus but now I appreciate the toned down fluidity of the chorus and how it ties the rest of the song together. Awesome song!

It def makes me excited about the new album. The band said it is going to have a good blend of song styles and tempos so we don't have to worry about PJ doing a techno album with Marshmello or some shit like that. haha!
I like it a lot, the whole song, but especially all of the layering in the last 1/3rd.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
I like it, I think Ed sounds fucking great and the lyrics are good.

Im listen about 20 times a day still. It is a higher level of song for me than the last 2 albums . I agree its like when the snippets of wws were going around and a big tour was coming in 06. It took me back to then. Its fresh and what the whole fan base needs i think. A move forward indeed.

Oh yeah those layers are gooood! Been cranking it through the headphones and it's amazing!!!! This song should be incredible live. Can see them extending it and putting there live spin on it to make it even better.
Very impressive how positive the reaction to this song has been from the forum, in general. Especially since it is such a departure for them, both in terms of what they've been lately as well as what the casual listener thinks of their sound. It is simultaneously giving their biggest fans exactly what they wanted while also doing exactly what they themselves wanted to do without worrying about what people would say.
And that's why they have such a passionate fan base 30 years in.
I agree. It's my favorite single/album teaser since NAIS. PJ hasn't put out a "bad" album, but it already sounds/feels like GIGATON is pushing the creative limits and has the potential to become a "new classic". HYPED!
