Its been mentioned, but it is in no way a security thing. It is the fact that the last 3 numbers are almost completely insignificant. I know I am in the 318XXX range, which narrows it down to much less than 1% of the membership and adequately slots me in on any list.
I have no clue what the last 3 numbers are. If I did, I would have no problem listing them. I never look up my number, so I never see the last 3 digits. I just know Im in the 318,000s, which is all the information needed and anyone cares about.
I assumed that it was kind of like any other account number that you wouldn't want to give out.
What I don't get is on in the Lost Dogs section of the forum, when people sell items, they will edit the post to delete the sold price, or hide the AP number of a poster.
I would just like to know , why? It's not like it's a password , we never need to know it except for bitchfest reasons,
and wow to everyone in the thread who posted.and just put their number down with 3 X's . Wow, thats awesome.
I think that your member number may have been your initial password a long time ago.

678xxx joined in Jan 2018. I had attended shows in the past as a non-member, but each year/tour good seats were becoming harder and more expensive to come by...so I joined specifically for the "Home and Away Tour" to up my chances to catch the Missoula show...and it worked! (pretty good seats I might add). Been a very happy member ever since....two for two in the lotteries.

How long have you been a member to be in the 100000s? Is it known if there are many active members under 100000?
I'd have to think a lot of people have moved on as they've grown up and started families, as much as they love(d) the music.
My number is 89xxx. I joined Ten Club in 1994. I don’t post a lot on this message board. I got burned out on other PJ and Car forums back in the 90s... I know plenty of sub 100k numbers of people who still have memberships. Much lower numbers than mine...
And to the original poster, I think most people don’t list their entire fan club number for fear of some sort of identity theft/subterfuge. During certain ticket permutations the low numbers were worth their weight in gold. Like 2003 for instance because of the ‘block system’ they were using at that time to pick tickets.
Today, I’m just killing time until they tell me my seat locations... good luck everybody.
My thoughts exactly , only wish I was waiting on seat location. Member number was as you stated great at one point (2003-2006 ) were great times. Unfortunately, I did not foresee nor could imagine that 10 years later , my number would be borderline useless .
I'll keep taking punches until their will grows tired..

The number surely isn't what it used to be. Also, as I posted in another group, when seat locations were leaking yesterday, have a friend that had seats that were as good as mine (also joined sometime in 1994). She joined the Friday before the tour announcement. Maybe those leaked seats turn out to be false. If not, although I'm thrilled for my friend, I have questions about how these seats were assigned regarding seniority. Something is off.

A fellow Utahn! We could have carpooled together to both those Missoula shows and the '14 Denver show. That '09 SL show was a weird one, great setlist but a lazy, partial crowd (I am sure that is why they will not be back here again). Anyway, good to know there is another 10 clubber in this state! I am down in the valley in Riverton, but my wife and I just spent Wed in PC taking in a couple of movies at the Sundance Film Festival.
BTW Joined in 2013. 495XXX-but I ain't giving it all either. I'm not sure why...I'm just not.
174425 Didn't our number used to be our login? Maybe I was dumb and just made it my first username or something, but I remember typing it every time I logged in. Sort of like my first phone number, never forget it. That's why I remember it.

Did you join in 2000? If so, I had 142xxx in 96, that would mean only 30,000 people joined from 96 to 00. Haven't we had about 30k join since the beginning of December?

Probably took you longer to type that then looking up your actual number.

Sweet, another Utahn 10 Clubber, good to know!...but for the record, I'm a transplant from Ohio some 25 years ago...best decision I think we ever made. And Go Utes!!...my daughter just graduated from the U last May. Yep, SLC can produce some "odd" crowds at times...seen Rush at Usana (Clockwork Angles Tour) and I don't know if it was the summer heat, or Rush's insane talent, but the crowd just seemed sort of "quietly stunned"....LOL. Hope you scored some tickets this go-around...we got Denver...if not, I'm hoping a fall tour that could include Vegas, SLC, or maybe even...Boise???
BTW---can't wait for Sundance to be over....LOL

I know mine by heart (always had a good memory for numbers, could remember everybody's phone number back when we actually had to dial rather than go to a contact list), plus its only 5 digits so not that difficult. I honestly think the xxx thing started because folks were treating them like a SS number and were afraid of some kind of sabotage if their number got into nefarious hands. And Rollings, thanks for the stuff I just ordered from 10C that your member number paid for. Needed some new hoodies, t-shirts and a slip mat. Too bad no dog collars anymore.

It might be because your 10c number was the default password given to you when you make your account. If you don’t bother to change it, then I guess people put in the x’s.
