Any good break-up songs you guys can think of? I'm trying to ease off of 'SOLAT' and 'RVM' to something a little more... um... forgivie-er...

    hmm, i just got dumped, but i got through with

    ledbetter, porch, RVM and then finally alive on repeat a bajillion times.

    i got more depressed, but then realized she was a total bitch. now i feel better! thanks PJ!

    When that happened to me, I found Garden to be the closest to how I felt. Not really the lyrics, just the mood and sound of the song.

    i just got through a break up, i wasn't dumped, but it was horrible all the same. All i wanted to listen to were things like Save you and DtE, if i had listened to something like light years i would have just balled my eyes out

    It's good that you have your own interpretation of RVM, but judging from the line "I guess it was the beatings, made me wise" and "the shades are raised" (when compared to 'Daughter') it's a song about child abuse.

    Other Side is not about a breakup either, but whatever floats your boat.

    I just went through a break-up. I was with this girl for 4 years and it seemed great, but shit happens I guess...

    I have been listening to Black for awhile and also writing and playing my own when Pearl Jam can't hit the nail on the head (they usually do though).

    Hard times, but Pearl Jam always helps.

    chloe dancer/crown of thorns is absolutely swesome and beautiful in every way so it really shouldnt be associated with any kind of negativeness like a break-up. however, if you use it to make you feel better, there really aint a better song

    Definitely Footsteps... I listened to it a lot when me and my boyfriend broke up. Save You is a close second... it's weird how those lyrics were so close to what my ex and I were going through.

    Yes but what kind of abuse are we talking about? Eddie points to physical abuse but leaves it open so you can familiarize yourself with it. Go deeper with it. Its harder ever physical...

    how can you not associate that with a breakup. Sure you can associate it with a lot. But breakups one of the obvious ones along with death and transcendence (most obvious).

    Like Ed says, make up your own interpretation. I think Other Side was not written about a breakup, but death rather.
