For 10c members only

Why don't they just go back to giving out physical tickets the day of the show. I don't remember seeing people picking up their tickets  just to turn around and scalp them. I'm sure it happens but at a very small rate. Instead I saw people who were excited to see where they would be sitting. The 10c would know how many tickets they have and draw the winners which would eliminate all this ticketmaster confusion. It also would eliminate the smart phone debates that go on. If 10c said it causes a lot more work on their end and they don't want to do it anymore I would completely understand. Use ticketmaster and whatever ticket system 10c wants for non members(where I feel the vast majority of scalped tickets come from). Lets make the ticket process easy again.

Not sure your reasoning for going back to the old way.  I think not having to pick up a ticket and knowing where my seat is ahead of time is an improvement.  Just my opinion.

  • While the hard ticket system may be easier, I think this way cuts down on scalpers.  Look at other posts about “speculative sellers”.  It’s easy to list the worst seat in the building, then pick up tickets day of show and honor a sale saying “you got better seats”.  This way, I’d have to think is much harder to get the tickets to someone.  If this way means cutting back on scalping and more tickets in our hands, then I’m all for this.  I get there are higher fees, but again, if $40 in fees means better ticket availability to us, I get it and it’s the price to pay.

just an idea. I always forget that for all the people complaining on here that there many more who are happy. It just seemed like there were less issues before. Not a big deal to me either way. Just an opinion.

The amount of bitching on this message board is crazy. I haven’t been active on this forum since early 2000. I think it was run by Sony back then. Anyway. 10C has always been ahead of the game. Fan to fan ticket sales should have people not bitching but here we are. OP’s points about going back to the ‘old way’ is fine but it’s not the world we live in anymore. Just knowing if you strike out now that you’ll find a ticket later at face value.

Those MSG seats are likely season ticket holder and prime vendor seats. Every single seat listed on stub hub is row 15 and higher. This implies the first 14 rows are 10c for most of the arena.

How would you sell the remaining tickets? Random lottery? You and I have the same chance as getting shut out of those tickets so why does it matter if these few tickets are scalped? Every entertainer on earth has the right to sell expensive tickets except rock bands?

OMG - this made me laugh!

and, yes, idk - i LIKE the newer system.  so much less hassle.  i simply don't have the time i did back in 2005 and such to sit around trying for tix, and then day of show picking up tix at the box office.  whatevs.  as long as i have a 10c ticket i am SO HAPPY.  and just scoring (or a kind soul sharing theirs) a 10c ticket, is a GIFT.  yes, a gift i pay for to a degree, but $20-40 for such, not so costly at all in the scheme of things.  then again, in the scheme of things, sitting here debating the whole ticketing scheme, in and of itself, is a gift.  first.  world.  problems.

  • What about the olden days of filling in the postcard for tickets!  Money Oder the cashesh. Try to find the 10c line at the venue before the days of fab and it to document the locale.  Ahhh the fun we had!

PJ20 and F5 was the worst, and I was able to go.  I had to take the whole day and night off for that one.  New system is okay with me.  Glad they offer the comparative ticket, that's cool.

my Mom had to call in 1996 for the tour sponsored by no one
  • The “old” system suggested by the OP is in effect for the tour in Europe this summer.  That makes it applicable to the latest known shows the band will play, and thus not exactly old.  It was also used for EV solo Europe 2019, and PJ Europe 2018.

While not everyone who entered the draw for Europe won, there were no complaints about anomalies like a 5th priority getting something that a 1st didn’t, or entering for 4 shows that had 99% odds and getting none.

The system in place for the current spring tour has many advantages compared to that other system (single tickets, ability to sell at face value if plans change, advance seat location info to name a few) but the OP’s suggestion is not without its merits.
