In Toronto I am at the Doubletree by Hilton. But I am making a little mini vacation in Toronto since I have never been there. Will be there for 5 days with a side trip to Hamilton for that show as well.

The double tree is great.  Make sure you take advantage of the warm cookies. A friend told me you can go to front desk and get a cookie pretty much when ever you want.  It worked for me but this was precovid so not sure if things have changed.

We're staying at the Victoria's Mansion Guest House. It's a bit farther from the arena than I'd wanted, but it has cheap parking and is dog friendly, two things that are more important for this trip than they were in 2020 (when we'd booked a hotel right next to the arena), as we're driving, and are getting a dog at the end of May.

Warm cookies would be awesome! Thanks for the tip. I hope they still do it.

In case anyone needs 'em, they've released standing room and 600-level seats for the show. I stand for like 90% of the things I see at SBA, and it's totally fine. The 600-level boxes aren't great for concerts - was up there for one of the Hip shows in 2016. You're literally in the rafters. But if anyone needs tickets, they're available.

FYI - Elton John has two shows at the Dome...one on the 7th and a new one for the 8th.
It'll be a very busy area for those coming in from out of town
Florence and the Machine - Sept 3
Black Keys + Band of Horses - Sept 6
Those shows are at the old Ampitheatre...now called Budweiser Stage.

PJ played there in 2003 and 2009....great place for a show.
    It's a hopeless... situation
    And I'm starting to believe

Damnit, I remember going to a show or two (Tragically Hip being one) when it was the Forum with the rotating stage, lol.

Got to see Prophets Of Rage at the Budweiser and it is definitely a good venue, lol.

I will be there - doing a three stop road show of Ottawa, Hamilton and Toronto with an old friend. I'm puuummmmpped! Flying in from Vancouver just for this and took a week off of work in the busiest time of year ( PJ is more important, work will be there when I get back 😂)

2-1 in game 7 to the defending champs is not a "choke job".

How about 18 straight years of 1st round exits?

Not a whole lot different than 17 straight years, and you still see Leafs jerseys in Toronto.

It also isn't 18 straight years: it's six, which still isn't great, but the Leafs missed the playoffs in 11 of those 18 years. People forget how bad the team was during the halcyion days of Nonis and Burke.
