Matt Cameron is one bad MF’r 🤘🏽

I was just lying in bed thinking that not if but when Soundgarden are inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, Matt Fucking Cameron will be the drummer for two Hall of Fame bands.

He will join an elite list of 2 time Hall of Famers.
Eric Clapton
Lou Reed
Jimmy Page
Neil Young
Rod Stewart
John Lennon
Paul McCartney
George Harrison and others.

The Hall of Fame is a joke but sometimes the recognition is nice to see.
Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

Most (27 out of 28) PJ shows I've seen were with Matt.

I think Missoula '98 was his first big show with PJ, and was my first real PJ show.   I think they did a warmup show in Seattle before the Missoula gig, but I like to think of it as first.  Sort of how my first PJ show was technically a lolla set, but I find Missoula '98 to be much more memorable.
  • My first show was 8-6-2000 in Greensboro, NC. 21 or so shows later and they have all been MFC shows. Did get Jack Irons on Rockin’ in the Free World with MFC on guitar in Irvine night 2, 2003. Every time is see PJ it’s like the first time. No chasing the dragon here. Every time is a mind blowing experience. Love the grace and power MFC plays with. He is unreal.

Chris with Soundgarden and maybe solo. Hell, that Songbook album is worthy of a HOF induction on that alone.

The answer would be 1 at most.
Soundgarden will hopefully get in eventually but not a shoo-in by any means.
Audioslave, Chris solo and TOTD are not getting in.

Matt is the musician I've seen play the most often. 11 times in 9 countries is pretty special for a Kiwi and I haven't even seen him in NZ. Always thought PJ showed off his groove and SG showed off his chops. Never The Machine Forever is insane. Whatever you think of his drumming style and how it meshes with PJ, he seems like such a good dude and a big reason why PJ managed to stay together. Cheers for looking after the boys Matt.

I could see Audioslave get inducted.  The first album went multiplatinum.   The next one went platinum.  The last one didn't.   I think that's fairly big compared to when they were an active band (being that album sales diminished in the digital era).    I would agree that ToTD and Solo would be the most unlikely.  ToTD because while it sold a metric fuck tonne of albums, it was only one album.   Does anyone get inducted of one album?  Chris Cornell's solo albums tended to appeal to a core base but not of influence outside of that.

  • MFC drummed Geddy Lee's solo album My Favorite Headache.  Check it out!

  • I've mentioned before that no code and yield are my fav pj records, but every pj show I've seen has had MC just killing it on the drums. Montreal 2003 for some reason sticks out...the outro to present tense was as perfect an outro as I've heard, all because of MC :)
