Be honest, have you heard of either of these bands? I think The Pixies are the most popular of all three, but I'm definitely no expert. Any experts?

  • The Pixies 4 album run from '88 to '91 is indie rock gold. One of the reasons why I started to play guitar...although i'm not sure how the hell the band can work without Kim there??

Grew up on the Pixies.  First cover songs we ever played were by the Pixies.

Ive been hearing that White Reaper song for months.  Reminds me of the All American Rejects but thats all ive heard.

IDLES have been good for a while.  Should be interesting having a PJ audience experience them.

I thought it was "Holy shit, The Pixies" vs. "Whomst among you knows what is a Picksees." Yes/no?

IDLES is the band all my friends have been bugging me to listen to for the last year so I'm gonna get on that.

White Reaper is new to me.

I'm going to see White Reaper in Chicago in a couple of weeks. Very cool bad. First 2 albums were awesome. Very raw. Latest is very good, but they lost a little of their raw sound. Their live shows are supposedly legendary in terms of whipping the crowd into a frenzy. Some of their live videos on YouTube feel very reminiscent of early '90s shows. Their new single "Might Be Right" is nice.

Idles have been growing steadily in the UK for the past few years and are a great live band. I'd definitely check them out.
I'd never heard of White Reaper, but had their new album on today and I love it.  Not a band I would have seen supporting Pearl Jam, but after hearing them I'm glad they are.
The Pixies need no introduction, and I'm sure in some way they have been an influence for Pearl Jam.
  • Just downloaded all 3 bands to my phone. Love Apple Music. Never listened to any of the three.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

You could make a whole weekend out of getting stoned and listening to the Pixies "Where is My Mind?"
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

I’ve seen white reaper a couple times at festivals. They’re a fun great sounding band live! I think better live than studio.

Paz Lenchantin is an able replacement.

I was pretty amazed at Idles supporting.
They have a huge following here. I know of Idles fans who are as rabid as PJ fans - following multiple shows a tour.
Joy as an act of resistance was a top five album.
    2009 - Manchester. 2010 - Dublin, Belfast, London, Berlin, Arras, Werchter. 2011 - PJ20 i & ii, Montreal, Toronto i & ii, Ottawa, Hamilton.

Looking forward to the Idles. Was not aware of them, but bought Joy as an Act... since I’ll be seeing them multiple times. Good stuff. Lyrically, good messages with aggressive rhythms, fun guitar. Should set up PJ well.

Idles are one of the best- and most considerate- live bands I’ve seen in years. They put their fans and women first- first class citizens and tight as fuck. Joy as an Act was also one of my favorite albums of last year...I’m literally prioritizing Berlin to see them open...great choice if you ask me.
