Michael Porter slipping in the draft a bit due to injury, I remember thinking at the time if a team can let him sit a year due to his injury in college, they would benefit big time with their patience. He’s had a few more since, but 6-10 sharpshooters tough to find

Porter was being touted as the #1 overall pick prior to injury, so getting him at 14 was a significant steal.

Smart teams look at the big picture…. Teams drafting in the lottery will suck following year regardless 9/10 times…. Might as well draft on ceiling

FB is full of Lebron bashing today.  The dud is 38 and carried the team but nobody cares to see it that way...

Can't expect any more from the guy, really. He gave it his all, ran out of gas a little but come on he was guarding Jokic and Murray and being the offense at 38 in the conference finals.  He's older than everyone else out there.  AD is supposed to be the main guy but can't score half the time and is 8 years younger.

That's one hell of a typo. (Or is it?)

and refreshing! Denver/Miami hopefully is a good series. Would be cool to see Denver win its first title (that would be their first, right?) or Jimmy Butler to finally win a ring.

He played great. Unfortunately he was the only one who did for The Lakers. There is speculation that he might retire. I don't see that happening. Didn't he say he wanted to play with his kid?

    Might take a year off.

It's amazing how much hate people have for him.  It really is unbelievable.

He's not retiring. Just another calculated move for some leverage to get something he wants.

the whole thing with Bronny is weird. Is he gonna really be lottery pick? Some blue chip or a role player?

so He pretty much states he will sign on with whoever drafts Bronny.....does that push Bronny to be selected sooner or not? I mean if some small market team decides to do it...maybe cause they just want Lebron in name, cause obviously you are not gonna get him near his prime....marketing reasons?

    lil funky

ESPN has a 2024 mock draft with Bronny going at no 10.
A year ago or so speculation was he'd be a late 2nd rounder at best, so maybe he's improved dramatically? Who knows.
But certainly the prospect of LeBron coming in a package deal might sway some teams who are on the fence about whether to draft Bronny or not.

No slight on Bronny, but reports are that next year's Draft is very weak.

    Yes.
And mock drafts 18 months out are pretty useless.

just making it to nba, even undrafted is something.....smallest rosters of all the major sports, and probably the most overall SKILL

So regardless Bronny is a winner, now following a legends path....almost not fair. Im sure he will have a nice career, be a top 10 player in the league is asking too much

From Wikipedia..last edit, 27th of May..
''Of the 151 NBA teams that have fallen into a 0–3 deficit (As of May 27, 2023),[11] only four of them (~2%) have forced a game 7, with all three teams that have played game 7 losing in game 7.[12] The first three teams were the visiting team in game 7. To date, there has never been a successful comeback from a 0–3 series deficit in the NBA, though the Boston Celtics will attempt to become the first team to do so in game 7 against the Miami Heat in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals.''

With no time to spare, .1 when it left his finger tip

Celtics almost fucked it away, but it’s hard to see them lose now…

That was an exciting game to watch. I can see Boston winning tomorrow and end the 0-150 streak that no NBA team has come back from an 0-3 deficit. Still rooting for Miami though.

Both Tatum and Brown realized they shit the bed yesterday, Tatum had a bum ankle but Brown knew he didn't play well.

Kudos to Spoelstra for figuring out what to do.

I would expect Denver to win in 5 though I'd love to see Jimmy get one.

    Tattooed in my memory...

Lakers go up 2-0 vs the Barkley led Suns in a best of 5.  The Suns coach guarantees victory and no shit, they beat the damn Lakers 3 in a row.  That was the year they went all the way but lost to the Bulls.
  • PoncierPoncier Posts: 16,795
Tatum turning his ankle 26 seconds into the game basically doomed the Celtics. Not sure they'd have beaten Miami anyway, but likely things would have unfolded differently if he were healthy and maybe they pull it off.

I think Denver in 5 in the finals.

I’m going with a Heat upset in game one. Maybe with Butler having a game in the spirit of Iverson’s game 1 against the Lakers in 2000. But then reality sets in and the Nuggets win in five or six. Hopefully that rust factor could keep Miami hanging around in game 1. But I just don’t see how they can contain Jokic for an entire series. Gonna be a long series for Bam.

Jokic gets his.  It's Murray that is the 2nd dose of lethal.

    Jokic gets everyone involved too.

that was a rock fight of a game. amazing for the nuggets to win with those percentages from the line and from 3.

butler was non-existent, then on fire, then sealed it with a horrible pass and horrible shot.

yes, scidoo, the euros rule the NBA. joker should have won his 3rd MVP this year.
