    ^^All nice replys^^^

I posed the question to some of my friends who are old enough to have seen all of those decades. 2 said the 60's with one saying the 60's and it wouldn't be close. One guy has to be around 70 or so and my good friend is 80. One also pointed out by which rules would the game be played? (Obviously no 3-point line in the 60's and basically all of the 70's) How would the 60's do playing with their rules at the time?

It'd be good Bar Room discussion.

The rules question is a great one, actually.

I think the 90's team is the best.

Obviously very tough to compare eras.
I'd eliminate the 10's right away because of the aforementioned lack of D.
If all these guys grew up in the same time period with the same training facilities etc. available, I'd probably go with the 60's just cause Wilt's physical domination combined with Russell's sheer will to win would be hard to overcome.
One of the key things I think to consider, more than pure talent, is that will to win/killer instinct.
I'd say Jordan tops that list, followed closely by Bird, Kobe, Russell, Magic and Thomas.
Based on that metric, the 80's would win, cause that is a team loaded with guys who'd rather decapitate you than give you a layup.

    This weekend we rock Portland

I was strongly considering the 80's but I think 90's and Jordan on the team that all ends.  Plus I'll never forget listening to Magic talk about the Dream Team and Jordan being the "new sheriff in town" and that he was just head and shoulders above anyone else.

If Lebron had the killer instinct that any of the players you mentioned above then I would have picked 00's.  Lebron and Kobe on the same team is just lethal and a defensive nightmare for any offense.

My friends father went to the same school as Kareem.  Said he was a jerk back then.  He was a big deal though.

I  know someone who lives in NY and saw him play in HS.  He scouts HS basketball and he's been at it for a LONG time.

Here he is talking a little about Kareem:

Yes it is interesting. Did you watch the whole video?

Yes, I do know Tom. He's a great evaluator of talent but is even a better person.  The man has NO ego. He's in it for all of the right reasons: The kids that play! Still sharp as anything . His memory is unbelievable. I'm big into HS hoops and that's how I got to know him.  It SUCKS with this Virus shit as I usually see him this time of year, and my other Hoop Junkies, at an EVENT not far from where I live.

Oh yeah, Tom saw Connie Hawkins play in the street/playgrounds of the City.

Yes I watched the whole thing.  When he was mentioning who the best HS ball players he watched I completely forgot that they were NY City kids.  I like that he mentioned Hurleys coaching too.

As for HS hoops the only 2 players I had actually followed were Jason Kidd when I was living in Cali at the time and Lebron.

Yeah, Hulrey one of a very few HS Coaches in the HOF.

I didn't see Jason Kidd play in HS but saw LeBron  4 or 5  times.

Jason Kidd was a big deal. He was front page of the Sports section after the McDonalds game.  Big write up on him.

Followed him then through college and the draft but after the Jim Jackson thing I lost interest.  Enter Allen Iverson, Shareef Abdul-Rahim, Ray Allen, Stephon Marbury, Marcus Camby and Kobe Bryant into the league for one of the best draft classes I can remember.

This Sunday at 9.  The Last Dance 10 part miniseries is starting.  I can't wait.

I had no idea that camera crews had that much access that year.  Should be some good stuff in there!

Last Dance should be amazing.  I remember everyone pretty much knew that was the end even at the beginning of the season.  and Game 6 of the Finals was the same night as the PJ Tibetan Freedom show.

Saw that squad in 1996.  So good
