You can use the Uber fare estimator to figure it out. I travel for work a lot and use this to determine if I want to bother with a car rental or not.HesCalledDyer said:Looks like BWI to MSP is just under 3 hrs and the flight back is just over 2. But I really don't want to take my chances with a series of delays, only being a 2 night stay with the show on the first night.Southwest you can pay an extra $20 each way to get in the first boarding group (it used to be $12.50 each way). I'm not super picky about my seat, but prefer close to the wing and not on the window. They also allow a carry-on & two checked bags for free. I plan on bringing some beer back, so a checked bag for free is pretty awesome.SWA is around $215 round trip with the early boarding, $175 without. Spirit was right around $175 once all their fees were added in. No-brainer here. Thanks for the horror stories, think I'll avoid a Halloween massacre! Now I'm wondering whether I should rent a car or just Uber around the city? Car rental is around $225-250. I can't imagine racking up that much in Uber fares in 2 nights/better part of 3 days. Then again, I don't know because my podunk town only has like 3 Ubers and I'm usually not in a case where I'd need to take one.
For personal travel I opt for Uber because I like to party....and I don't want to drive after that. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -
Where in Minneapolis do you plan on going to? An Uber from MSP airport to downtown Minneapolis will run $20-35 depending on time of day. Downtown MPLS to downtown St Paul is right around $15-20. I guess it all depends where you’re going to go/do.HesCalledDyer said:Looks like BWI to MSP is just under 3 hrs and the flight back is just over 2. Thanks guys! Checked out Uber & Lyft calculators and it looks like it's not that bad. The place I'm staying is close to the NE Arts district, about a mile & half from Target Field. I think Uber/Lyft might be the way to go for such a short trip. $7 to downtown and I can walk around from there before getting a ride back. Only "excursions" might be Matt's Bar and Electric Fetus which look to be about $8-12 rides.jerparker20 said:Where in Minneapolis do you plan on going to? Light Rail is pretty cheap and easy to use too if you're staying around downtown.HesCalledDyer said:F Me In The Brain said:You can use the Uber fare estimator to figure it out. I travel for work a lot and use this to determine if I want to bother with a car rental or not.

Oh yeah, I always forget that mass transit exists in more populous cities in the nation!tbergs said:

(Our public transportation here consists of the old people bus and the resort/casino shuttle.)

Electric Fetus.

Cars in cities = parking fees. Don’t forget that. Parking probably costs what a ride from the airport would be.0
