Is he not informed by the band that this is happening?!

They don't need to inform him. He's not part of the organization anymore.

Well, I don't "need" to inform the person walking in front of me if he/she accidentally drops his/her transit pass without noticing either.

I would wager a guess and say they have a deal where he lets them do this and doesn't comment and makes a few bones. Or I know id personally be telling everyone about it, I mean this is the highlight of OUR lives, it is likely the highlight of his.He could absolutely make money talking about it.

  • If he's got a writing credit on a song every time they sell it he gets a cut... and if it's him performing on the release he gets a cut too.

They don't have to let him know they're releasing anything, but I'm sure he knows once the checks start rolling in!

A deal with the band to not go on 100 talk shows and talk about every show. Again, I would if I were him, and id also totally listen if he were on shows.

the a-hole in everyone sure comes out when Abbruzzese is brought up. Sheesh.

All I was saying is If i was in a band that was still profiting off MY talent, i'd like to know when they would release it. God forbid thats the least you could ask for... not once did I say  "I wonder if Ed and Stone are going to have a 3 way with Dave because of vault 9." so stop reacting like I did.

See, but I think here is why some people get sick of hearing about Dave.  Dave was a great drummer for this band, in the extremely brief period he was in it.  That period being very nostalgic for some of us has no bearing on the fact that the band would be just as successful had no one ever heard of Dave.  That is not a knock, it is just reality.  To believe otherwise is simply putting ones head in the sand.

The band is not profiting off Dave's talent, Dave is getting a cut of the royalties his contract grants him, in perpetuity. He is quite fortunate.  Despite his many years of on and off belly aching.
His eminence has yet to show.

  • Cant people just relax. All the ”attacking Dave A any chance possible” are the worst thing ever, after The Fixer.

Yeah, sure he could be on some Loudwire youtube video answer some "truth or fiction" questions about his time in PJ, or on some rock pod.

But I doubt he is in the "rock an droll consciousness" enough for them to headhunt him - as e.g. Izzy from GnR or even Vinny Vincent from KISS are. And he doesn't seem to be interested in all that either.

In reality, he probably gets a check a few times a year for royalties and it has a breakdown of what its all for. Jack and Dave K too. While in an ideal would, it would nice to give the guys a heads up, theres no real reason to, especially if there is no other commitment beyond the label putting out the release.

Hell, I'd wager the band knows little more other than choosing the show.

And its not really a Dave A diss. He was a great drummer for the band. I just don't really get why people think the band owe him more still.

Pretty sure people are not paid to go on a podcast. They go on for free to promote something, just like they do good morning America or whatever
