In "Breath" the breath and scream part I think is when the elder says go out and live!! See the world! It means don't be scared go take a deep breath and LIVE (scream).
WTF does the title Yellow Ledbetter mean? Was Huddie Ledbetter a total fucking coward or something???? I can almost get some of the lyrics, but the title...
Not quite sure exactly what it means or the song in general. I do feel alot of people mis-interpret the lyrics. Most say box or a bag...I think it is a boxer or the bag....you know like life punches ya in the face...(the bag)..but you fight back..(the boxer)...I don't know probably way off the mark...who knows!!
Cheers,

I heard breath is about birth.... that's where the scream part comes in... and the door
Dirty Frank is about their tour bus driver back on their first major tour I believe. He use to eat all the left over pizza crust, or whatever else was around. Its also said he'd be drinking all night while the band slept as they drove to the next town.
Just what I heard.

definitely Rats. it is just so random, but still kicks major ass. it's great.
"And wherever you've gone and wherever we might go.
It don't seem fair for days just disappeared.
Your light's reflected now. Reflected from afar.
We were but stones. Your light made us stars."
I think I'd have to go with Breath too.
Though the "birth" idea does make a lot of sense, and most of the lyrics fit.
I've never looked at it that way before.
i love the song dissident, but i have no clue what it means...it is a great song and a great beat but if someone were to ask me what it means...i couldnt tell you.

It's about a woman who takes in a political dissident or 'enemy of the state' and shelters him, caring for him... but the pressure gets to her and she "folds" by turning him in, which she feels horrible about.
As for Pilate... Pontius Pilate is a religious figure; someone who would stand up for his beleifs as long as it did not include any personal sacrifice. According to the Church, Pilate believed Jesus was innocent and did not want to execute him... but while fellow leaders called for Jesus's execution, Pilate sat by idly. "True evil is the complacency of good men".. or something like that.
But anyways... what the line "Like Pilate I have a dog" is referring to isn't the bible, but a book by a member of the Soviet Union called "The Master and Margarita". This is truly an amazing book, and at one point the author incorporate biblical figures into the story... anyways.. at one point, Pontius Pilate is being tortured and facing punishment, yet all the while, all he does is long for his dog... hope that gives u a sense of what it means.
Breath is about getting the F out of a small town and making a difference.
Yellow Ledbetter got it's name from a friend of Eddie's, Tim Ledbetter; and the lyrics are mostly improv. But in all versions there tends to be a sense of loss and regret... but I'm pretty sure this doesn't have anything to do with Mr. Ledbetter himself.
*phew*.. got any more i can maybe help with? (am i a loser, or what?)
