    That always makes me think about the end of part 3 of Pirates of the Carribean.

    Once every ten years I'll be back for a day, please stand by the shore that day.
    I wonder if it was inspired by the story used for Pirates. It is a romanic tale in any case.

    I'll throw another one on here, it's hardly the greatest line thread anymore, anyway.

    I was walking back from the shop last week when I was hit by a line.
    And basically that line does it ever time for me.

    Thinking:"If he can't sleep, how will he ever dream"?

    Love the song, but this line is suberb.
    The whole lyrics shows Eddie's skill to tell a store from the first person by really digging into the emotions of the caracter. I think that is Eddie's best quality when it comes to writing lyrics.
    It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

    As others have said, so many incredible words that it's hard to pick one favorite line, but ... these lyrics from "Sad" ... just amazing.

    My understanding (mostly from Wikipedia) is that Eddie has used many different lyrics for this song, including the one you mentioned, when signing it live. Both lyrics are great -- how may people could come up with two powerful lines involving the words "box" and "bag"??

    Hard Sun is a great song, but the credit goes to Gordon Peterson for the lyrics. When I saw EV in concert a couple years ago, he made a comment to the effect of "sadly, the best songs on the album are ones I didn't write" (he was referring also to "Society").
