Did the US shoot down an Iranian drone?  Or was it the other way around?  Hard to tell via this thread.
No one has said that a US drone wasnt shot down. Not even Iran.
Do you really need the comment explained?  it's called sarcasm...
I can read. So yes I did know that.

Ethan Hawke starred in an excellent though disturbing  movie that really gives some thought provoking insight into drones and modern war.

    Hmm. Havent seen that one.

I haven't seen it either; I'll keep an eye out for it now though, thank you.

It's really heavy, intense, disturbing, but a very brave movie and I can't think of anyone who could have done the lead roll better than Ethan Hawke.  It's a bold, brave, movie that lays out in the open the injustices of war.  I imagine the film makers took some heat for making this film.  And I must say, thank goodness for how it ends.

I feel a lot of people really want to break the bongos out of the attic and go into full war protest mode ... it has been a while for sure.  Some will have to wait at least a few days longer.

I'm not sure what the bongo metaphor is (clue me, I really do try to keep up with the times), and I'm not sure what you mean here.  You mean, a lot of people are eager for war?  A lot of people are eager for war so they can have something to protest?  A lot of people are just simply eager to protest?

And, hey, how does it feel to feel all those people?

Hmmmm... I wish I had time for bongos and protests, unfortunately working 50 60 hrs a week, raising a family, and trying to keep up with bills really puts a big dent in time allowed for extra curricular activities. I guess putting down my phone could free up some time. Anyway, I’m glad our Commander and Chief pulled out at last minute. I think an escalation would only make things worse, but it seems ridiculous to give our leader credit for something he got us into. I don’t really consider myself anti war, and I’m definitely not naive enough to think Iran is innocent in all this, but for Trump to come into office and tear up the previous administrations work on the Iran nuke deal is pretty petty imo. My oldest brother is a disabled vet from the first gulf war, so yeah I will always stand against war and think war should be used as a last resort. I don’t know every detail about the Iran situation, but to unilaterally withdraw from the Iran nuke deal in the face of our allies is pretty fucked up. IDK
If it makes anybody feel better and so I don’t come off as hypocritical I was also against Obama’s redline, and some of his administrations other decisions made as it relates to foreign policy and war and peace. I also wasn’t necessarily against Trump dropping the MOAB on the tunnels in Afghanistan.

And to answer your question ... I want the Canadian military to shoot it down, of course.  But if Iran has a drone flying over my house, something went terribly wrong with our defence systems, to be honest...lol. And if Iran is snooping around my town, have at it.  Not much to see here, just a small rural Ontario town...

I honestly don't know enough about the particulars.  Its' all modern hi tech warfare.  A crazy video game being played on a world-sized monitor.  Just the latest version of what humans can't seem to do without: WAR.  We are so goddamn good at war.  But where does it get us?  Nowhere.  No-friggin-where.
