How would you rate the 2013 Tour?

I was in Baltimore last week to see the Yankees play at Camden Yards and it occurred to me that the last time I visited was for the PJ show in 2013.  It got me thinking how much I enjoyed that tour even though I only saw 5 shows.  It was an album tour with new songs and lots of cities.  Plus we got the first Wrigley show.
At this point I would rate the tour very highly for quality of the shows and a pretty decent schedule of cities, but I’m not sure if that’s just because I’m in withdrawal for a proper tour or if it really was that good.

It kicked off a new era for the band, IMO. No opening acts and 3 hour shows. "Double openers" like Long Road --> Release. We can debate whether it has become formulaic since but at the time it really ramped up the you never know what to expect element of their shows.

I enjoyed the 2016 tour a lot more. No album to push made the sets that much better imo.

Agreed on all parts. Would still prefer to go back further in time if I got to revisit a show, but the new format of shows has been a great change.

I’d give it a pretty good but not great.  To me, peak Pearl Jam was 1998 because they had 5 albums to choose a set list from and they still had some of their aggressive craziness.

Worcester 1 was this insane experience because we had no idea what was coming. Long Road --> Release kicked off a 3-hour epic. We've come to take that for granted a little bit. That night as it happened was so far above my expectations.

    “Only 5 shows”

If only we could all be so lucky! 2006 still takes the best tour post-2000 for me.

I don't tend to think of the 2013 tour as a tour on it's own - I always combine it with the 2014 show much like I do with the 2009 and 2010 performances. In any case, these shows were indeed great (and the bootlegs sound awesome) but, for whatever reason, I think the shows from 2006 and earlier are a bit better. The setlists were less "watered down" (sorry, just not a big fan of the last two or three albums...they're good but...) and the shows seems a bit tighter earlier on.

I rate these things by posters only.

    Portland/Charlotte/Pittsburgh are amazing.
Buffalo and Cracker Jack are good. San Diego is nice too.  There you go.

2013 was wonderful.  A great variety of cities and unpredictable set lists.

Plus, Ed sounded the best on the Pittsburgh 2013 boot that hes sounded over the last 10 years.  The 2013 boots as a whole are some of my favorites.

Speaking of Philadelphia, we now need someone to state they were at those two shows!

One of the best tours they ever done
Like everyone mentioned, this tour had 3+ hr shows, and setlists that were unpredictable.

My favorite thing that the band did was break out some deep cuts like, All those Yesterdays, Let Me Sleep, Leaving Here, Pilate to name a few.

2016 was another great tour because of the interaction the band had with the crowd.
