It is funny that Ed spends New Years with this guy. I mean he violates the only rule of the Pearl Jam religion just about every waking moment.

  • I enjoy Bill Maher because he still pushes the envelope.

I don't like everything he says but he is funny as hell.

Bill Maher Goes Full Sexist, Defends Chris Matthews and Mocks His Sexual Harassment Accuser

According to Maher, Matthews “said some things that are kind of creepy to women,” continuing, “You know, I just, guys are married for a million years, they want to flirt for two seconds. He said to somebody, Laura Bassett, four years ago, she’s in makeup, he said, ‘Why haven’t I fallen in love with you yet?’ Yes, it is creepy. She said, ‘I was afraid to name him at the time out of fear of retaliation. I’m not afraid anymore.’ Thank you, Rosa Parks. I mean, Jesus fucking Christ! I guess my question is: Do you wonder how Democrats lose?”

One of his roundtable guests, the anti-#MeToo writer Caitlin Flanagan of The Atlantic, proceeded to further mock Bassett, saying of her, “How fragile can one woman be?” and insinuating that she was only booked on Matthews’ show because “she probably looked good on camera.”

With that, Maher chimed in: “Is she a compliment-victim or a compliment-survivor?”

I watch every Friday night. Then the reruns during the week. Last night's "editorial" about campaign financing was spot on. Don't have time to post it as I'm running out the door, but google it and see what you think.

There are levels to these things. What she says Mathews said to her, to me, doesn't warrant ending his career over. Not even close.

Well it looks like they allowed him to acti like that for years on end. That video goes all the way back to no widescreen TV and Laura Ingraham being an author appearing on MSNBC, rather than a Fox News propagandist. So MSNBC allowed him to be like that for years, and now in the METOO era, he's expected to censor himself? Maybe MSNBC should have been harder on him years ago for that sort of stuff, rather than not caring until it became fashionable to care.

Doubt that was the only reason.

Hey he likes Love, Actually (for whatever reason) and shows clips from it. If you had a show, you'd probably be showing clips of Freddy Kruger and Paul Stanley.

Here's the full Maher clip by the way....

    Meh.

I bet you can find examples of that stuff from a lot of tv personalities going back to the beginning of...tv. It just looks bad out of context and within the era we are currently living.

Great show last night with audience limited to staff and close family. Having people laugh and clap is so important.

he said they are moving their off week to next week and then they’ll see what the covid situation is about returning. It’s going to be sad without his comedy during this time if extended.

I think the last 2 weeks have been really good.
From last night, I liked, or thought was kind of funny, was when he talked about Howard Stern recently commenting that Biden should go out and act like he is president already. Like a ghost president, lol.
