  • I like the show. But the opening and his delivery is bad, so wouldn't surprise me he stinks as a comedian.

Came to my college once back in the early '00s. I would best describe him as an angry drunk. Was not funny. His show is a bit better, but his arrogance can be very annoying.
    It's a hopeless situation...

I have always loved the show... but have you seen his stand up? I would not categorize it, or him, as very funny. His stand up act stinks lol
Disagree...I have seen him in Indy 2-3 times and most recently in Vegas.  He was hilarious.  He is at the Mirage a lot and it seems like he tries out a lot of his opening monologue there.

In Vegas he pissed off a lot of MAGA idiots.  Twas grand.

  • I did learn something, I did not realize comic book readers thought comic books were great literature...lol
Read Neil Gaiman's The Sandman.  That IS good literature.

I like Bill Maher. I don't care when I happen to not agree with him (But I agree with him more often than not).

It is funny that Ed spends New Years with this guy. I mean he violates the only rule of the Pearl Jam religion just about every waking moment.

  • I enjoy Bill Maher because he still pushes the envelope.

I don't like everything he says but he is funny as hell.

Bill Maher Goes Full Sexist, Defends Chris Matthews and Mocks His Sexual Harassment Accuser

According to Maher, Matthews “said some things that are kind of creepy to women,” continuing, “You know, I just, guys are married for a million years, they want to flirt for two seconds. He said to somebody, Laura Bassett, four years ago, she’s in makeup, he said, ‘Why haven’t I fallen in love with you yet?’ Yes, it is creepy. She said, ‘I was afraid to name him at the time out of fear of retaliation. I’m not afraid anymore.’ Thank you, Rosa Parks. I mean, Jesus fucking Christ! I guess my question is: Do you wonder how Democrats lose?”

One of his roundtable guests, the anti-#MeToo writer Caitlin Flanagan of The Atlantic, proceeded to further mock Bassett, saying of her, “How fragile can one woman be?” and insinuating that she was only booked on Matthews’ show because “she probably looked good on camera.”

With that, Maher chimed in: “Is she a compliment-victim or a compliment-survivor?”

I watch every Friday night. Then the reruns during the week. Last night's "editorial" about campaign financing was spot on. Don't have time to post it as I'm running out the door, but google it and see what you think.

yeah it's ridiculous....although her bringing it up doesn't mean the reaction had to be what it was

There are levels to these things. What she says Mathews said to her, to me, doesn't warrant ending his career over. Not even close.
