The first Pearl Jam song i ever heard was 'Once'. it was december, 2001, and i'd just gotten 'Ten' as a christmas gift. i didn't know who PJ were, or what they were about. i was waiting for a connecting flight to Jo'burg in Madrid, and thought i'd kill some time, so i popped the disk in and started listening. by the first chorus, i knew that this was something... remarkable. anyway, the batteries died before 'Even Flow', so the whole plane ride home i was humming 'once' to myself, and i've been an uberfan ever since. ah, those were the days.
THE END IS NE

I was only in like 3rd grade or something like that, but because my name is Jeremy so older chick at school was like "oh that's so cool that you're connected to Pearl Jam like that". Weeks later I heard the song somewhere. Took a long hiatus, only hearing your random PJ songs on the radio. In '98 I bought Yield on Mini Disc while in Canada. Didn't actually get into them hardcore until early last year. Never looked back since.
but no code was my first album i was in love with hail hail and smile for the longest time. now i'm stuck on crown of thorns and crazy mary.
i knew a drummer from a local band, and he gave me "vs". that was a revelation to me.

in somebody elses sky, but why, why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine?!

i was 17 then and didn't know about Pearl Jam at that time ... i am from Macedonia and here it's hard to hear music that is not popular, hard to surface to people except if you dig everywhere like i do ... i was searching through internet and found about this band Pearl Jam, kinda good things i read and was curious enough to buy something off of them , bought Binaural and i liked it ... i didn't expeted anything while i was listening to it and i liked it really ... there was something interesting in these songs , something unique in this band's sound ...
the only thing i knew about Pearl Jam was that Eddie Vedders voice is almost the same as S.Stapp's(and i heard of Creed at that time considering it was time when they had that single With Arms Wide Open and were on all the charts) and when i heard Eddie for the first time i said to myself 'True, sounds like the singer from Creed' ...
that was the time when i started exploring this band and i am hooked by it and can't get enough of it still ...
:-)
my second album was Yield, then Vitalogy, then Ten, then No Code, then Riot Act, Vs. was the last one for me , it was a great trip i must add ...
