I am shocked these are selling out - I do not see the appeal at all for the size and the asking price(s). I guess there are folks that don't mind spending the large amounts of $ to stare at a giant sized red typewriters? Framing advice will come next and than we will see it displayed on the framed poster thread. Apologies to anyone offended - To each his own, I clearly underestimated the market on this one big time.
These would look great in a commercial space or in a room with big walls, high ceilings etc.
Are these prices correct? Santa Barbara - 300 Pittsburgh - 200 Toronto/Montreal - 450

Predictions on Kong price when its released? I'm guessing $600.
This just reeks. If they are going to re-issue these in any fashion I think they should all be set at the same selling price. Not based on the posters past glories.

how are people framing these? whats the cost estimate to get one of these framed?
Was wondering about this too... The matte might be horrendously expensive (and if you don't matte it there's the threat of humidity and slippage).
40X60 Matting is readily available, but may not be big enough depending on the print, my cost as a framer on 40X60 is anywhere from $35 and up depending on quality of materials. Larger sizes do exist, colors are limited and most shops will not have the equipment large enough to cut them.
40X60 Glass my cost is $43 a sheet for conservation clear, many folks use conservation plexi when you get to this size to cut down on weight.
Frame itself is always the biggest variable and will depend on the molding you pick out.
Also given the size and weight, you probably want to mount with a Z-Hanger which will also add to the cost.
Even with basic and modest mat and frame selections, it would be difficult for me to frame something this size for a customer under $350 and I am home based and work cheaply.

Thanks for the detailed response!
At least with a matte cutout that big, the cast off is still so huge it could get used again (maybe twice). That is unless I am completely wrong on how matte insets are cut...

Barrie was still much cheaper than getting an OG. Glad I own the OG. Maybe a little less and i'd consider it. I just have nowhere to hang it in my home and refuse to spend the money on something that will have to sit rolled in a massive tube. Hope whomever buys these has the space--like a huge, open living room with bare walls.
Tempted by these. I can imagine a 5 footer looking good on the office wall (said the person who says that about all the other posters that wind up in the flat file )
You have a flat file that can hold one of these?!?
