Looking for the 2003 tour compilation download

Hey all,

Rummy and I have been talking about tour compilations lately and we've been trying to find a download link to a collection that came out about fifteen years ago.  We're unsure of who made it, but it's similar to the Lowlight79 tour mixes that are so highly regarded.

Rummy was able to find some artwork for the set (see below) but not any download link.  We're wondering if anyone has the compilation in their itunes, an old hard drive or would be willing to make a download link available.  Thank you!

Or if someone can recreate this through a complete set of the bootlegs, it would be awesome.

  • Following bump
  • If I ever get some time if no one gets back to you on this I could put all the tracks together in a zip file but it won’t be any time soon, man.  Maybe February or so.

Feb is cool!  Individual tracks from concerts and whole concerts from the 2003 tour can be downloaded from https://www.pearljambootlegs.org/modules/jinzora2/index.php?nuCU0sannA===ZpZllQ==&ext.html

Well if you know how to do it then why don’t you do it, lol? I offered because it seemed like you didn’t know how to do it.

I work 60 hour weeks and have two jobs.

I can do it, but it might get done by the summer months.

I'll consider making the compilation but I have to admit that I'd likely want to make a few changes...e.g., not sure if I like the acoustic start to CD4. I guess that'd mean new artwork!

I would include a different version of Porch.  Not sure what the date is, but it's from the July 2003 shows.

...I wouldn't include songs that were only played during those three fall (acoustic) shows...I'd probably omit the train wreck that was Satan's Bed (much like I'd omit the lone (botched) performance of Sometimes from the 2006 tour)...including Improvs and Happy Birthdays is highly unlikely.

There's also a part of me that might use just the North American tour shows. It's nothing against Australia and Japan (that's another 15 shows worth of material!) but RBO already took care of those places with his two wonderful compilations.

We're looking at eight discs worth of material (yes, I'd still confine myself to 80-minute segments as opposed to one monster playlist).
CD Openers would have to be:
    -Can't Keep
    -LB Capt
    -Of The Girl
    -Release
    -Oceans
    -Wash
    -Sometimes
    -Long Road

It's a work in progress...Admittedly I've already had to remove a song from each of the first few discs and save them for other ones. I realized that I was running out of songs for disc 6 through 8!
  • rummyrummy Posts: 4,448
Also, I'll split the discs into individual tracks eventually. I still have to go through and double check transitions between songs and ensure that none of the performances I chose has any issues/flubs. This takes a bit of time.

    Your feedback is welcome.

First draft is complete. I still have to have a closer listen and I've yet to split the tracks (I usually do that last - when I'm sure everything is in order). I made it eight CD's long and it clocks in at just under eight hours (or 480 min). Some discs a little below 55 min while the longest is about 65 min.

I can't help but wonder if I should "engulf" two of these discs into the other six - thus making a six-disc set with all discs approaching 80 minutes. However, seven of my opening tracks were only openers (LBC could be moved) so six CD's might be too few. But can I make a seven-disc set? That seems a little...odd (yes, the number pun is intended).

I have shuffled stuff around and made it work to my fancy on tour compilations (taking out evacuation for example).

I have some substitutions for songs also.  Hopefully I can contribute those later in the week.

  • The Green Habit compilation is great, that was about 2004 as I'm sure some VFC was on it

A few of my song substitutions...

Leaving here (St Paul 6/27/03 The band sounds tight and not tired like on the state college bootleg)
    Go (6/1/03 - Better ending)
Wishlist (7/8/03 - Why the creator of the mix didn't include a version with the Why Can't I Touch It tag on the end is a mystery)
Bushleaguer (4/30/03 Uniondale - this shows the tension the song created on the tour)
Porch (not sure of the date but it starts out with Ed going 'uno, dos, tres, quatro' and it absolutely rips.  Anyone familiar with this version?)

I'll definitely take your suggestions into consideration. Obviously over the past week I didn't go through all of the 2003 bootlegs - impossible to do so. I usually opted for either the version on the original one or a version from one of my own (smaller) mixes that I had made in the past.

The version of porch I referred to is from 7/14/03 Holmdel, NJ.  It ends the main set.

Listen to it on pearljamlive.com  What a version!
